Haley tapped at her recorder necklace as she stared at the pool through the doors of the manor.
Unlike her old high school’s pool, this pool though was sparkling white with pretty blue tile lining the whole thing. It looked like a five-star resort instead of someone’s personal pool—then again, was this not a manor? Were the Silvermane’s not living a five-star kind of life when the lower district wouldn’t even be considered for a star?
Dinner felt like a trainwreck waiting to happen but thankfully didn’t end in a trainwreck. Everyone had finished their meals and left, leaving the manor particularly quiet.
Haley herself had thankfully managed to avoid any more drama by acting extra busy, if only so Demarcus wouldn’t try and talk to her. It worked out rather well actually.
After that she had carefully made her way through the manor that lacked staff and activity this late in the evening, now here she was, at the pool.
