"I'm not talking about that danger, Dad" he sentences and falls silent. I ponder for a brief second about confessing but with nothing to fear, I end up going for it: "Your friend Donald, he's a sexual predator. He's been stalking Emily for as long as she's known him and it just so happens that I can't find either of them."
"For God's sake, what kind of stupidity are you insinuating now boy? Donald is a gentleman, with a wonderful wife and daughters."
"I'm not insinuating anything, I'm telling you things as they are. But you see, that's why I didn't tell you before because you wouldn't take me seriously."
"How can you expect me to take such idiotic things you say seriously? Maybe that girlfriend of yours has been imagining things, she's been suggestible, thinking she's very pretty and has said those things to you to make enemies with my friends."
