Nat watched the newlywed pretend to be a happy couple as they posed in front of the camera, smiling. But she knew the real story.
She could not help but wonder if this marriage would have a happily ever after ending. Or would it be like the many she had seen families who just stayed together because the Kingdom required them?
"What are you thinking?" Suddenly, Cole stood behind her, slightly startling her. Her focus had been on the bride and groom. She did not see him coming.
She quickly recovered upon seeing him. "Nothing of your concern." She answered back as she returned her attention to the ongoing event.
He stepped closer and occupied the empty seat next to her. Then, he made himself comfortable by crossing his legs as he watched the programs with her.
"Don't be like that. I thought the maid of honor should not be brooding, alone in her seat." Cole explained as he grabbed two champagnes from a passing server. "For you." He handed one to her.
