She had cleaned the entire place, hoping to exhaust her body, yet her brain refused to shut down. She could feel her muscles protesting, but her mind was still wide awake and busy thinking of all the possibilities.
She knew it was still early as her eyes focused on the clock on her nightstand, but the last thing she wanted was to stay awake and think of what her daughter was doing at that very moment.
She stared at her phone, itching to dial her number. But she had sworn not to meddle this time. She already talked to her this morning. She could not call and checked on her again.
"No." She stopped herself before she could grab her phone from the nightstand. "She is a grown woman. She is more than capable of taking care of herself." She slid out of her bed and decided to get some water.
