Liam roamed his eyes around the brightly lit room as he entered the posh, massive house. Soft music blared across the spacious room, signifying that the party was still ongoing.
He was already late, but it seemed the event was far from being over as more guests arrived just after him. Some familiar faces greeted him, but he still did not recognize most of them.
It was one of the downsides of being in a new place, but since he was well-known, it was not hard to find himself in the middle of the crowd as everybody vied for his attention.
"Liam, I thought you would never come." A familiar voice spoke behind him, making him turn around to greet his friend, the host of this lively party.
"Cole," Liam grabbed his friend on the shoulders and tapped him on his back. "You have a nice place. Thanks for inviting me tonight."
He met his friend through the same social circles. Then, they went on a few experimental ventures that turned out to be lucrative businesses. Now, Cole had helped him acquire this new business for his expansion plans in this city.
"Of course, I told you I planned this party for you," Cole told him as he moved along the crowd.
"Yeah, right?" Liam answered, knowing how much of a social animal Cole was. His friend loved the limelight while he enjoyed his privacy.
Then, his friend introduced him from one person to another. Famous and wealthy people, including celebrities, business associates, and the society's elites, were scattered around the place, from his living area to the expansive backyard.
Still, he appreciated the gesture because it would be good for his business to meet new people. They could be future clients and investors. Networking had always been the key to his success.
"So, how was your first day at the office?" Cole asked, ushering him to one of the tables on the far end of the pool where they could watch everyone else and still have the privacy for their conversation.
"It was busy." He took a sip of the cold drink that his friend handed him. His eyes continued to wander in the room, looking for anything that would interest him.
He had been dealing with mostly paper works and meetings all day, and the last thing he wanted to talk about was his job. He was a workaholic inside the office, but he still occasionally enjoyed some recreational activities to de-stress himself.
"Well then, let me offer you some relaxation," Cole suggested, pointing to a few stunning ladies on the other side of the pool, looking in their direction.
His friend raised his hand to them, and soon, they walked toward their table. Three women smiled at him, all competing for his attention.
"Hi, ladies." Cole blasted his full charm, standing up to kiss the girls on the cheeks one at a time. "Would you like to join us for a drink?" He gestured at the two available seats in between them.
Of course, one girl took the seat next to him, the blonde, who possessed an angelic face, but a sinful body. She guaranteed to make those curves stand out with her skimpy dress.
The other two girls were equally stunning as one took the other available seat. When Cole settled on the other chair, he took the other girl on his lap instead.
"Bring us more champagne," Cole called out to the waiter, who was passing around a tray of drinks balanced in his hand.
The boy nodded, moving along since his glasses were mostly empty. But he was back again after a minute, replacing their empty glasses.
"You don't look like you are from around here. I am Dina." The woman offered her hand to him, which he took and placed on his lips. It was their custom.
"Woah, a real gentleman," Dina surprisingly exclaimed as she giggled beside him. "I bet you do that to all the girls."
He had no idea if she was genuinely amazed by his act of chivalry or if she was just a good actress. But whatever, he was not interested in her anyway. But who was he to decline her company even for the moment?
"Of course. All women deserve respect." Liam told her as he raised his glass to her. Soon, they were clicking their glass together.
In his peripheral vision, he could see that his friend was now busy entertaining the two girls at his side. As usual, he was telling them his tales of greatness.
But unlike his friend, Liam had no time for such nonsense. His time was valuable to him. He had a goal, and time was not exactly on his side.
"What if respect is the last thing I want from you?" The woman leaned forward to him, whispering her words into his ears.
He could feel her full mounds touching the side of his arms. He knew it was not an accident but an intentional move to attract his attention.
Then, her lips touched the side of his face, and her hands crawled up his thighs. It was a clear invitation for something more but was he up for it?
He turned around and faced her as their eyes met. But like all the other girls, her eyes were full of lust but nothing more. Nothing in the depth of her eyes challenged him except for the possible carnal gratification.
He surmised that she would be nothing but a good fuck, nothing more.
"Excuse me for a second." He stood up, not thrilled at the prospect of spending more time with her.
He did not need a woman to complicate his life. Especially this woman, who he assumed was set to lure him. But he had learned his lesson.
He checked on his friend, who was still busy with his two companions. He nodded in his direction before walking away. He was better off talking to some possible investors anyway.
As he moved along, his friend shouted and waved, making him look back. But he did not expect what had happened next as he felt someone bump into him.
Then, a big splash of water blasted into the air.
