"I accept, but I won't kill people whom I deem as friends" Elijah didn't want to kill Anna or her father, it would be too tragic. Her father helped him all this time and also helped him escape, he wouldn't sacrifice them just for gaining some power.
"Yes it's acceptable " The being had no problem with that.
" Since you accepted let's start then" Mr black said, since the guy's eyes and everything was black about him Elijah decided to call him Mr black since he didn't knew what else to call him.
Suddenly the world seemed to Disappear and Elijah felt his feet no longer touched the ground, It was black all around and Elijah didn't knew whether he had gone blind or just all the light vanished from existence.
Elijah couldn't confirm direction nor could he conform he was on ground, he didn't feel like he was floating. Then he realised he couldn't even feel his body! .
Am I in the void, like in empty space? I don't feel anything and that's scaring me. what am I right now?
After burst of confusion Elijah slowly calmed down. He felt he needs to do something, he didn't know what but he couldn't just start freaking out.
Elijah calmed himself and tried to feel himself and his surrounding's but felt nothing. He was still for a long time eventually he accepted the silence and became patient. He just stopped thinking and just waited and became as still as the void itself. And eventually after unknown time he resonated with the emptiness and the realisation woke him up.
Elijah's body felt electrified not because anything special but due to drastic flux of information from the surrounding's . The sudden shift from total emptiness to sensations like touch, sight , hearing made him feel alien in his own body.
For him it was very very long time, he didn't feel the passage of time there, probably the concept of time didn't even exist in that dimension.
Elijah turned around to see that that Mr black was nowhere to be seen. He probably wouldn't meet him soon unless he failed his task. But he knew that he had this mysterious mans attention for better or worse he had to deal with it for now.
Since Elijah was now fully aware of his surrounding, he felt extremely good!. He felt he could see the world more clearly and the clarity was intoxicating.
And he now felt Energies he never felt before , His life force beating in rhythm, The mana flowing through his body in harmony with his life force and deep inside him beyond his physicality he could feel a certain emptiness or darkness which felt like the origin of all. He felt he could manifest anything he desired out of nothingness.
This... this is truly a blessing, he felt rejuvenated and reborn. could this be awakening that they call or something else.
Elijah stood there for a while, getting used to the new feeling.

It felt good and all but now he had to complete the task given for him. His life was in line here, so he kept racking his brain to come up with a plan.

At Elijah's old apartment..
"Is this guy really going to come. He is probably not so dumb to come here.. "
"Well , the probability of him coming is low but not entirely zero, Elijah escaped leaving all his important stuff here.He may come to retrieve it"
Two people where waiting inside Elijah's bedroom. They had been ordered to ambush anyone who came to the room and apprehend them. They felt it was useless task since no one was foolish enough to return.

Both heard the front door opening. Elijah's room had a small living room and a bedroom to the right end of it with an attached bathroom. Overall it was very small but sustainable.
Elijah entered his room, closed his eyes and expanded his senses. This was one of the abilities he could use after he got 'Enlightened'. He could sense the world in different way when he used it. his vision would go dark but mysteriously he could perceive everything in his surrounding.
Sensing two people in his bedroom Elijah comes near the door and holds the knob. Before turning it he takes a gun and shoots through the door and opens it.
The first guy was fallen lifelessly on the floor, the bullet passed right through his head. The second guy was shocked to see his friend fall but when he saw Elijah entering he instinctively jumped on him.
The man held Elijah's gun to face the ground and took a knife ready to slice of the intruders neck. By his actions it could be deduced that the man was veteran in this, but unfortunately the one he faced was someone who used magic and not an ordinary man.
Elijah activated his vision again, Only this time he concentrated on a spot and vanished.
What the man saw was Elijah turning into like a black burnt paper that got blown away and vanish from his eyes. It all happened before he could blink and before he could register where Elijah was, a cold knife pierced his heart from his back. cough..
coughing he feel.. his face had an expression of shock.
"That's pretty damn convenient" Elijah was impressed by his abilities. It all felt surreal, if he used his abilities well he would be a deadly killer. And to top it off he felt no consumption of mana or any type of energy. It felt like he was a bottom less abyss. Elijah was already loving his powers, though he has to complete a bloody task but it was worth it.
Elijah walked to his table and opened his drawer where he kept the note left by his parents. He picked it up and quickly kept it in his pockets. Then he searched the top of his inside of the drawer and clicked on a small switch.
A small compartment opened , inside it was two black gloves and upon them a transmutation circle was drawn. To hide the circle, the transmutation circle was drawn from black ink hence being effectively Camouflaging it.
Elijah picked the gloves and wore it. They perfectly fit his hand comfortably. He clenched both his hands and the circle glowed blue.
"Well I am all set, let's start cleaning human wastes for next three days.. "
