Jeremy stopped the car at an abandoned house near the Capital. He has planned it a long time ago: to keep his children and wife to safety, and not to allow the president to touch a single strand of their hair. Jeremy fumbled for the keys, inserting it to the wooden door.
The algae spread around. Its mold pestered underneath the doorknob.
Jeremy wasn't bothered. He wanted to see his kids right now.
As soon as he swung the door, he closed it, thudding the darkness to the path of stairs. Rushing down, Jeremy called out, "I'm already here, guys!"
Inside the basement, his wife, Jia, perked up from cooking meals for their kids, and teared up quickly. They have kept safely with those thick glass windows and a hangout to leisure by. There is a kitchen and a bathroom, too.
Jia turned to the kids, but they already exclaimed, "Daddy!"
