Chapter 5 - Save You

Viola said the best time to attempt a prison break would be at nighttime. It's when the Victorians are usually celebrating conquests and victories. The one issue about this is that nighttime only lasts an hour on this planet due to it having a larger sun than earth's.

After hours of waiting Viola and I made our way to prison of the planet. Planet Victor barely has any prisoners due to them usually being sold into the service of other planets or being killed in the capturing process. Thus is the punishment for being an apex predator in this universe, I guess. Have to cull the strong somehow. As we got to the Prison of the planet, we noticed that security was way more extreme than anticipated. That means they were expecting us. It makes sense that they would, but Viola was insistent on the planet's celebratory culture. I personally think times has probably changed since she lived here.

There were 3 guards at the entrance and guards patrolling the walls of the facility. They would make small flashes of light as they used the power of Vector to make patrolling swifter. I look over to Viola slightly panicked and I whisper.

"So how are going to get in now?"

"Your brilliant plan isn't gonna work."

"Hey, it's not my fault they changed how they run things around here."

"Our best course of action now is a full-frontal assault."

"W-what!?"

Viola immediately covered my mouth.

"Shut up and listen."

"There's only a select few people on this planet that could take me on in a fight."

"The War chief, my dad who's locked up and the war chief's brother."

"So, if worse comes to worse I can decimate the enemy forces by going ahead first and you can follow from the back while watching the rear."

I nodded in agreement. Her plan may be bold, but I trust her. I trust her strength. Viola gave me a thumbs up and immediately used the Vector to blitz towards the guards. Using the momentum of the vector She did a spiraling kick immediately decimating one of the guards. He was kicked into the entrance of the facility complete breaking down the massive entrance door. While her body was still in motion from the kick the 2 other guard attempted to pounced on her using the power of the Vector. Their attempts were futile. She just jumped using her other leg which resulted in the two guards colliding. She then used the power of vector to propel herself downwards landing on the guards' skulls with a double kick. This completely incapacitated them.

The sound of the door breaking down alerted the guards at the border and within the prison. Guards came marching out. Viola was outnumbered 30 to 1. This was really bad. I decided to run in and help her but before I could even get there, she used her powers differently. She picked up a piece of rubble and shook it for a bit. The guards look at her with confusion in their eyes. She then flicked the piece of rubble within the entrance of the prison. What followed was sheer carnage. 20 of the guards essentially turned into paste on the halls and walls of the prison entrance. It was as if she fired a super powerful bullet or a rail gun. It was insane. She turned down the odds that was against her quite literally with a flick of her wrist.

She then combats the 10 remaining guards. Me jumping in would probably only be a hinderance. As I watched the battle, I wondered in what way was she not the perfect warrior. She was strong, she was fast, and she was tactical. She had everything you could want in a warrior and then some. I wonder what her dad's conditions were for such a title. Perfect is such an insane term. One would assume nothings perfect in this world, but I refuse to have such an outlook life. If someone strives for something, then it can be achieved. Just look at me. I strived for freedom from the earth and here I am millions of lightyears away from that place. Perfection is merely the ideal form of something. So is the end goal for her to become the ideal warrior. What even is the ideal warrior? Pondering only got me back to where I started. I could always just use my object permanence to figure it out, but I like contemplating and figuring stuff out without it.

As I was contemplating Viola tapped me on my shoulder.

"Hey, I'm done."

"Wow, those guards got decimated."

"Yup, it wasn't that hard."

"To be honest it was barely a warm up."

To think that was barely a warmup for her. She has to be the ideal warrior there's no way she's not.

"Well Veronica, shall we?"

Viola and I made our way through the entrance. The entrance was just a giant hallway that led to the prison cells and the guard's central hub area. As we got to the end of the hallway there were 2 paths. Sadly, Viola's rubble attack destroyed the sign that said which one lead to where. There was 2 of us and 2 options. The decision was obvious. We would both take one path. Viola took the one on the right. I took the one on the left.

As I made my way through that path, I would stumble upon the prison cells. There was one person who was not inside a cell. It was a guard.

"So, you've made it to rescue the General now have you."

"I am Vice Warden Vecken and I will be ending your little prison break."

VIOLA'S PERSPECTIVE-

Leaving Veronica to fend for herself may be a bad choice but it's our only choice. All I can do is put my trust in our training on the ship. She can take on at least 3 guards at once if the situation demanded it. My assumption is I wiped out all of regular guards here so the only thing left would be... As I finished my train of thought I entered the Central hub.

"Ah the wardens."

"I am Warden Volk and I'm gonna put an end to your prison break and make you, my bride!"
