Viola's Dad's Perspective-
To see my daughter after all these years. Grown, strong and apparently with someone she trusts. Truly was the highlight of my long life of battle and fatherhood.
"Dad why are you here?"
Her question wasn't a really a question I could answer with a few words. It's a story of betrayal. I gestured to her to sit down and began the tale.
My wife, Viola's mother had passed away during the mineral wars. We were led to believe she was assassinated by the enemy planet Phenyx. Me being a general would put a target on my back for intergalactic conflict. It is to be expected. Although it is to be expected, it did not make the pain, suffering and guilt I felt go away. I loved that woman more than anything in the cosmos and my sole purpose for going to battle is to gain strength to protect her.
She did not die due to an assassination. During one of my battles with the troops of planet Phenyx, I had killed one of their Valkyries. A high-ranking female warrior. Only 6 or 7 of them exist, I think. I don't remember the exact number and quite frankly I don't care.
Our war chief wanted to make peace with the enemy planet after the battle, but the Phenyxians weren't having it. They wanted compensation for the murder of the Valkyrie. I was led to believe the War Chief Vergil had paid them in resources. In actuality he had given up the life of.... my wife. All these years I thought they had assassinated her. All these years I've had this misguided hatred. All these years. Without Viola.
So, after going on a rampage on planet Phenyx, they told me what actually happened. That's what led me back here on planet Vector. I then went on a rampage here. I took out a majority of our military might. That battle however left me slightly weakened. This was enough of a difference for that bastard Vergil to take me down. Thats how I ended up in this cell.
After recalling my story to Viola her face was stern and angry. That isn't good at all. Listen V, we can't take revenge right now. Especially with your friend here in the state she's in.
"She knew what she was getting into when we got here."
To think she would say such a thing. Perhaps I was wrong about her progress.
"No... I tried revenge and look at where that got me."
"What we need to do is get back to your ship or steal a ship and get off world now."
"But dad, what about mom."
"Your mom isn't gone because of Chief Vergil."
"She's gone because I was quite simply not the perfect warrior and I failed to protect her."
Tears began to flow but I immediately wiped them away.
"Listen let's just get your friend and get out of here."
I picked up her friend as gently as possible and began vectoring out of the facility. Viola would follow me from behind.
It took us a bit, but we got to the spaceship landing yard where all ships that come from off world park. But as we got there, we noticed something. The entire facility was quiet with no one in sight. It's usually busy due to Victorians constantly leaving off world for mercenary missions. This is strange. As we walked through the yard Viola noticed her ship. As we approached it 6 people vectored towards us. It was the War Chief, his brother and the royal guards. This is bad.
"Why hello there, Ex General Vizen."
"Vergil..."
"I see your daughter busted you out alongside her... human companion."
"What a resourceful duo I must say."
"Vergil let them go. They had nothing to do with my rampage."
"Yes, that may be true, but they injured my daughter and broke into a government facility."
"The time for mercy has long been passed."
"VIOLA GET IN THE SHIP NOW!!"
I immediately vectored in a spiral to create a tornado. A great distraction, especially due to our planet's dusty sandy, nature. Using this opportunity I target the weaker ones, the royal guards and quickly knock them out with swift blows to the chins.
As the dust dissipates, I quickly reduced the odds from a 6 versus 1 to a 2 versus 1. The three of us vector towards each other clashing. This clash creates a shockwave of dust, sand and wind. As we're clashing, I was slightly being overpowered. This slight disadvantage gave them the opportunity to they needed. Vergil kept clashing while his younger brother vectored out then around me and went for a grapple to disable my movement. This would if the kid was at least almost as strong as me physically. As I was about to break out of his grip Vergil punched me in the stomach.
"Ha, sorry I didn't do it like you taught me."
He went in for another punch this time rotating his fist. This increased the force of his attack significantly. He kept laying into me repeatedly. This must be what death feels like. I could slowly feel it approaching. At least I'm getting do the duty of a warrior. Protection. Protecting the life of my daughter and the one she protects. Doesn't seem like a bad way to go out.
As I was being beaten to a bloody pulp, I looked over to Viola's ship. The hatch was still open, and Viola's friend was on the floor. Viola was now where to be seen.
"VIOLA NO!"
Viola had come crashing down on the War chief brother with a spiraling air born kick. It looked like a golden drill almost. Incredible.
"Shut up old man."
"What kind of daughter would I be if I couldn't help out my old man!"
Ha, to think she'd be the one protecting me. Yes, that's what it's all about. Protecting those you care about. That is the mark of a truly, perfect warrior.
