"I just got a call that you have to report to the principal's office tomorrow." My mom told me.
What? Why? I knew that I was supposed to go to the Principal's office after class but I had forgotten about it. I think it was because of the issue between Zachary and that girl—Tracy, as he had called her during the argument.
"Oh, okay."
" How was school?" She asked and I shrugged.
"It was okay, I guess."
Mom frowned, walking over to me to lay her palm against my neck. "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine, Mom." I said, subtly removing her hand from my neck.
"But you don't look okay, darling." She argued.
"Why would you say so? I look perfectly okay." I smiled.
"Your eyes looked tired. Like you're sad." She said, her eyes squinting in worry.
"Don't worry about me mom, I am your daughter after all." I said that to assure her that nothing was wrong with me and from the looks of it, she bought it.
"Okay, dear."
