Chapter 11 - Episode eleven

Zachary kissed my forehead before walking away. "Call me when you're done with your classes. I'll be waiting."

I waved at him and went back to my class. I did have a lot of thoughts about the girl I saw Zachary with. Now that I thought about it, he was acting weird. I thought about the way he had stammered when I asked him what they were doing.

But then again, I knew that Zachary wouldn't cheat on me. I needed to stop over thinking.

Victoria was waving at me and I was surprised because with the way I yelled at her, I thought that she would be avoiding me. Instead, she was smiling and waving at me as she walked closer.

She wrapped me in a hug that caught me off guard. "Hey."

"Hi." I said as I pulled away from her after a while.

"How are you?"

"I'm fine." I really didn't know why she was being like this. Did she lose her memory overnight or was she just naturally like this? It creeped me out.

"How was your night?" She asked again.

I didn't know why she was acting dumb, but I was going to play her game.

"I've been okay. I'm still not used to waking up so early. Usually, at my old school, I get an extra hour to sleep in."

I hoped she would stop the topic and walk away, but she didn't stop. She simply nodded in agreement with me.

"Yeah, I feel like compared to other schools, ours starts a little too early." I couldn't agree more. "So, did you do the assignment?"

That had my mouth dropping in shock.

I stared at her blankly. "What assignment?"

She gave me a weird stare. "The one we were told to do in class yesterday."

I couldn't think about any assignment. I had not been paying attention in class yesterday and now, I had missed that important information. What was I going to do?

"I don't remember anything about an assignment." I told her.

"Don't worry, just like always I did your own assignment." She smiled and handed me a paper with the answers to said assignment on it.

"Thank you so much." I said without giving much thought to what she just said. Giving her a suspicious look, I asked. "What do you mean? This is the first time you're doing my assignment for me."

"Did I say always?" She laughed nervously. "I meant to say I did your assignment for you."

I didn't miss the way her eyes widened in fear. What was wrong with these people? Why were they all acting this way? I really needed to stay away from them for the safety of my own mental health.

"Thanks anyway." I waved the paper as I walked to my seat.

"You're welcome." She called after me.

When I got to my seat, I saw Sebastian pretending to be asleep. That was when I remembered that I had asked him to stay away from him until he was ready to answer my questions on why he was acting strange towards me.

"Settle down, everyone."

I looked up and saw that the teacher had entered the class. He didn't look happy at all. He seemed like one of those teachers that would do everything in their powers to make their students life miserable.

"I hope you all did your assignment." He said harshly.

The amount of groaning that rang out through the classroom was enough to tell me that I wasn't the only one that had forgotten about the assignment.

"This assignment is fifty marks and your exam is fifty marks also. Suffice to say, if you didn't do it that's an automatic fail for you." He delivered the news with obvious delight and the students groans grew louder.

Seriously, this man was so sick. Why would he just tell us something like this out of the blue? How on earth were we supposed to know that the assignment was going to make up half of our grade?

I was thankful that Victoria did my assignment. Now, I was wondering if Sebastian did his too. I was sure he did because I could see him getting up from his pretend sleep and producing a paper from his back.

"Take this." He handed me a piece of paper.

I stared at it strangely. "What is it?"

"It's your assignment. I did it for you." He said then turned away.

"Thank you, but Victoria has done my assignment already." I told him.

He turned back to me, looking so sad in that moment I felt bad. I didn't know if I should submit his or Victoria's. They had both taken their time to do it for me when I hadn't even asked them. But Victoria had given me her's first and it would be so wrong to submit Sebastian's instead of her's.

"I will keep yours and hand over Victoria's to the teacher." I said with a smile and he smiled back to me.

I guess I couldn't stay mad at him for long and besides Victoria and him were both weird. Maybe all I needed was to get used to their weirdness.

"We won't be having much today." The teacher said as he collected the assignment from the students. I submitted mine and I was feeling happy with myself because my parents would be proud that I didn't fail an exam because of an assignment.

That's what happenes when you don't pay attention to a teacher.

At least I had two people here who cared about me and I really hoped they did care about me, because I didn't trust people and I simply couldn't start trusting them again because they did my assignment.

Plus, they still haven't told me why they are so weird.
