"It'll be two years they passed on in a few weeks from now."
Akeelah hears but doesn't face Leo.
"Will you go visit them?"
"I will."
"You're not possibly still sad? You're a woman now."
"I miss them from time to time." Akeelah's voice quivers slightly but she doesn't still look at Leo, keeping her eyes trained on the floor to ceiling windows and looking outside absentmindedly.
"I miss them too Al. We'll go see them together. Is that fine?"
"With Buff?"
"Sure. We'll call him along too."
Akeelah turns to face Leo with a sad smile.
"I wonder why they had to die for those people's greed."
"It was more than that."
"What? What happened?"
"Dad was somewhat involved in Carlin's Mum's death."
"What?!"
"Yeah. You heard me clearly. Not directly involved though but he has a fault."
This is news to Akeelah who is too dumbfounded to speak.
