Gina's heart was racing, her mind was still trying to process what had just happened. After she heard Zeryon was yelling at her, it made her reflexively turn away from him.
She realized that she shouldn't be eavesdropping on other people's conversations. She had just left the restroom when she heard a loud noise coming from a large room. She just couldn't help, but she took a step closer when she found out the tall man who had stolen her heart.
The another men in the room appeared to be familiar. Perhaps she had seen them somewhere. Her mother disconnected the cable TV, so of course she couldn't watch the news. She was grateful to the inventor of the internet, who made the world look small, as if it were in the palm of her hand. She had easy access to current information.
Especially the middle-aged man with the piercing stare. His large, sturdy body, dressed in a black suit, showed that he was not just a weak old man with no position. His voice seemed to be able to vibrate the walls of the art building. The proof was that the two bodyguards immediately released Zeryon with just one short sentence.
Gina looked around as she arrived at the doorway. The sun was almost angled westward. Yesiba and Bryn, who were waiting for her in the courtyard, were approached by Gina. "Let's go home, guys!" she exclaimed.
"Oh, you're finally back. You took a long time using the restroom. I was worried that you might be possessed too." Yesiba took Gina's hand, but she didn't say anything.
"Our discussion was over about that. Earlier, we agreed that it couldn't happen," Bryn stated.
"Alright, alright."
"Let's just take a taxi home, shall we?" Bryn suggested as the three of them stepped out onto the highway.
"It'll be expensive, so let's just walk," Gina suggested.
"No worries, I'll pay for it. My dad will soon buy me a car to drive to the academy. So we won't have to walk any longer."
"Hooyah, congratulations!" Yesiba exclaimed.
They came to a halt and waited for a taxi on the side of the road.
"Will we stop by your house first? I'll assist you in explaining so that your mother will grant you permission to attend the academy." Bryn inquired.
Gina was unsure whether she should stick with her plan or abandon it. Why else would she seek Zeryon? He was not friendly after leaving the stage.
"Gina?" Bryn inquired once again since she didn't respond.
"Sure, help me explain to my mother, and let's go to the academy together," Gina replied in lower tone.
"Yeay!" Yesiba laughed, indicating how pleased she was to hear that.
The irony was Gina adored art, but her mother despised it. She was even forbidden to sing. Despite the fact that her friends said her voice was quite good. Her mother refused to give Gina the art class she requested because she believed that art was useless and that she should study science to get a good job. She simply obeyed, whether she liked it or not.
She also enjoyed painting, especially the 3D paintings created by Zeryon Drax on both his face and the canvas. Every night, she stared at the screen of her phone. Without seeing the video content of him, it felt as if the day had not been completed.
From a distance, a taxi can be seen passing by. Bryn waved his hands, and the vehicle came to a complete stop in front of them. They jumped into the taxi right away. Gina sat in the front seat, while Yesiba and Bryn sat in the back. Then, the vehicle raced through the city streets.
Gina looked to the right, then to the rearview mirror, which displayed an image of a black luxury car at medium speed. The car exactly offset their taxi. She was perplexed as to why the vehicle did not simply cut them off. She had thought that the car was following them.
She turned around and her eyes narrowed. The windshield was too bright to see who was behind the wheel. She then try to ignore it and returned her gaze across the street. Buildings ranging from Victorian to modernist in style are neatly lined up.
Seeing the view on the road didn't make Gina happy because her heart felt like it was being stucked with thorns. When the heart was attached to someone, the slightest bit of rough treatment, will be very painful.
"Why do you look sad, Gina? You were so happy when you saw the show. Do you still worry about the audience getting sick?" Yesiba asked as she leaned forward in Gina's seat.
Gina looked away from the rearview mirror, then turned around.
"I'm fine..." Gina smiled wryly. No matter how hard she tried to appear fine, the expression on her face couldn't hide her heart. It could be seen by Yesiba from the rearview mirror.
"Are you sure?" Yesiba asked.
Gina simply nodded slowly. "Thank you for your concern."
"If you have something heavy on your mind. You can tell me. Maybe I couldn't always give the solution, but by telling stories and sharing wounds with others, sometimes it helps to reduce the burden on your mind." Yesiba explained in a gentle tone.
"Correct. Don't forget that I'm always there for you too, Gina. We've known each other since we were little," Bryn said.
Gina shifted her gaze to the back seat. Her friends were all smiling at her. She then pursed her lips and stated, "Aww. Now I feel loved."
"You are," Bryn said.
"Yes, girl," Yesiba replied.
The taxi was moving at a steady pace. They arrived a few minutes later in front of the house. Bryn paid for the cargo right away, and they exited the taxi and drove to Gina's house.
Gina took a deep breath and took a step ahead of the others before turning around. "Get ready, guys. My overprotected mom will explode in three...two...one..."
