Chapter 12 - 25 03 | M. R |

"All I'm saying is that, why does it matter what form we take? We're all freaks in the end"

"Freaks?" - his bright shaggy hair dripping beads of sweat as vains become prominent on his arms and neck while he shakes uncontrollably - "If anyone is a 'freak' it would be you, Mia Riviera"

My breathing becomes rigged as my actions mock his, the boy who had been my best friend.

My brother

Pushing him back, my hand lands on a spiral shape with four odd looking corners on his chest; a right of passage.

"You can't tell anyone, por favor" I begged, my hands meeting each other and folding.

"A secret can't stay hidden forever"

I begged, bargained, lied, promised.

Betrayed

----

"You can't prove anything" I said as unbothered as possible while another punch was thrown.

"Then do it, prove us all wrong"

Another kick.

I was on the ground, body practically mangled from the inside out while the only thing marking my face was a puff cut lip.

With my tongue itching my cheek in irritation, eyes looking for a way out.

I was crowded, outnumbered in the only ways necessary.

Helpless gaze landing upon Señor Bine. His face was slowly caving in with age, eyes dark and endless of stories and sights. He was where an old outsiders hat; blocking the sun from his already rough skin.

Standing there, arms to his side still. Boots marked with dust. Fits clutched. Distasteful.

Giving a final yelp, my body begins to shake uncontrollably.

Shortly after, my insides seem to be getting ripped out and used a paint on my dying corpse.

But, that only lasts for a second.

Moments later my vision is lowered and my instincts change.

A few lasts kicks and punchs are thrown as I quickly gain balance and move as fast as a damaged things can towards the unendless trees.

Cursed are thrown and heard for miles out.

Who knows how far I had escaped to before my body gave out completely.

Hiding behind a bush with a snow covered its face towards the sky with cold yet soft ground.
