Caitlyn was in her room when Detective Glene replied. She wasn't anticipating his response that soon. She read this text message and stood from her bed. She walked to the sitting room and stood at the window facing the street. She wrapped her hands around her body and was staring outside. Tears dropped onto her cheek and she didn't move her hands to clean her tears, she let them flow.
"What is wrong with me?" She thought and continued to cry silently. She had sex with Carter in the vehicle twice that night, and during the process she didn't feel any guilt. But once everything was over, she became angry with herself again. She had instructed Carter to drive her home and they never discussed Ochoa's death before she lurched out of the car and ran inside her house. Her kids were still in the sitting room and she was happy that they were engrossed in watching TV and that they didn't notice her mood.
