"We can go another time, you don't have your wallet," she told him as she resumed her walk toward the store, and he stopped her.
"I shop there so we can get them, and I'll have someone pay. Please don't say no," his eyes begged, and she couldn't refuse.
She nodded her head as they walked toward the street to hail a taxi.
When they arrived at the boutique, her eyes widened. It was enormous, and all of the clothes were stunning; she couldn't decide which to buy.
The accessories were all lovely as well. She spotted a red dress and quickly moved over to check the price.
Her eyes and mouth both widened, and she couldn't tell which was wider. She was certain it was someone's annual rent.
She turned to face Alan, who was smiling at her as if they were just buying some vegetables to cook with; even so, some people, like her, would negotiate the price. And even when she could, she was sure she could still not afford it.
