The morning was cheery, even though Eleanor's heart felt heavy. She walked into the workplace feeling burdened.
Every step she took reminded her of what she had done the day before. What terrified her the most was going to work and seeing him. She exhaled a sigh. Why had everything gone wrong for her since she met him?
She moved steadily, her head bowed to the ground, avoiding each set of eyes that followed her.
She had the impression that they were passing judgment on her.
"Good morning, dear!" As she walked into the elevator, she was greeted by Prince. His voice jolted her out of her reverie. He smiled at her and bowed again.
"Oh, I didn't notice you!" She admitted while smiling. "I'm sorry I didn't ask permission before taking a day off yesterday, I'm not used to the new environment," she laughed, her heart still heavy.
