Chapter 8 - The Past Luna; Their Mother

While Alan was frantic about Scott marking her without his permission, Scott was ecstatic. Even though their mother was still missing, all he could do was jump around, making Alan pissed.

Simon, Daniel, and Jordan had already left the house days ago, to look for her. Their dad was dead many years ago. He was attacked by one of his friends from another pack because he wouldn't sign a treaty with them.

According to his friend, it was just an accident as he was trying to persuade him into signing it. Things got out of hand and their dad fell off the cliff.

That provoked Alan's pack and they fought with him, but they left him while he was only bruised.

But unfortunately, he was attacked by some rogues on his way home and was killed.

His pack members thought the Delta Moon pack, Alan's pack, had killed their Alpha and had sworn to take revenge.

At that time Simon had just finished the university and was ready to conquer the world.

He had to take their dad's title as the Alpha and family company. However, he was also passionate about Engineering and was looking forward to inventing new things in the world. He was conflicted.

So he talked to their mother, who advised him to only take one role if he thought the two were too much for him to handle. He then picked his role as an Alpha- the Alpha of the Delta Moon pack.

Alan being the next in line had to take the position and so he changed his major when he got to the university, to do business Administration. He was young at the time and was furious when his mum urged him to change majors.

He had wanted to do Computer Science and felt Simon sent their mum to convince him as everybody knew it was impossible to deny their mother- Mrs. Elizabeth Dante.

At any time that the topic came up, Alan would frown and not talk to anyone for the rest of the day.

So one day their mother called him into her room and they talked. His mother understood him: he also was to take on the role of a Beta so why did his elder brother act as if he wasn't going to be anything?

His mother convinced him he'd need money to build his Tech company and so should make his father's company a better one that would be able to support a new one:

So as he studied business administration, he'd also studied Computer Science during the weekends. That sounded nice to him and he also left his mother's room, rejoicing.

Andrew on the other hand wanted to be the CEO of their dad's company and was infuriated that he wasn't given a chance to occupy that. He was the closest to their father.

He had followed him everywhere after school and when there were days there was no school.

He could remember everyone had called him Junior CEO Dante. That night as they sat around the dining table to eat, Elizabeth, their mother saw the disgust on her son's face.

She knew what was eating him up but chose to remain silent for a while.

So after they all had left with their plates, she asked Andrew to stay behind.

"I was supposed to inherit that company. You know for how long I have been wanting to take after dad. This is so unfair," he whined, throwing his arms around.

The smile on his mother's face never left as she pulled the chair next to her, even closer.

"Sit my dear. Now let me ask you. Is it the title you want or it is the work you want to do?" That sounded like nonsense to him for a minute.

"You love Estate development like your dad. You love baking like him and I know you'd again be a great Manager at the hotel or restaurant too," his mother explained further as she listed the family companies.

This only made him madder as his mother wasn't going straight to her point.

"Think about it and come back to me," she got up to leave and so he quickly answered.

"I want the work and it comes with the title too."

"That's where you are wrong, son. You could be the CEO, the Vice President, the Manager, COO, name them son," she chuckled and went on, "but without the passion for the work, there'd be no company. Also, Alan can't handle it all alone.

You are next in line and you can take the next position. He could be having the knowledge to do the paperwork but trust me, he could have no idea of how the buildings are built.

You do. He could know how to run a hotel but guess who knows the employees more? You! You both can only help each other to make the family business run smoothly.

Besides, you are also the Gamma; that's no child's play, dear. You also love to bake and trust me once you find your mate and start having your own family, you'd start thanking your brother for doing you the favor.

But then it's one thing at a time, my dear. Think about it, I'm sure your brother would gladly give the title to you if that's what you want."

At first, he thought his mother only wanted to manipulate him and so it took him a while to decide.

He loved baking and could do that all day so he went to a baking school and he was doing great…great until one day Alan had gotten sick- more like he was on his death bed; he was shot by a hunter when he had gone out for a run.

Turned out the hunter was a wolf hunter and was well-equipped. His wolf, Scott almost died.

Being the next in command, he had to manage the companies and the bakery as well. The young man had to choose between the family business and his bakery.

He only did his best, praying his brother would wake up and take over again.

Daniel, their last born had recently begun high school and could care less about the whole role saga.

As long as he had food to eat, clothes to wear, and a roof over his head, he wasn't going to fight anybody- unless he or she was disrespecting his family.

Right after high school, he saw how his elder brothers were working hard and figured he should be useful too, he was torn between becoming a lawyer or a doctor.

His mother went with him to career seminars and workshops to give him an insight into which career he felt was okay for him- so he studied law.

Now, this was the woman that was missing and they were all, including their cousins Jordan, Jackson, and James looking for.

Simon's mate, Diana was out of the country and so couldn't be of much help but she always called to check up on them. Diana was Chinese. She was called Lu Li Diana. They both met during a Seminar in Thailand.

Among all the boys, Simon was the only one to have found his mate, she was also a werewolf.

Right! Mates.

The look on Alan's face drew the rest of the men's attention to him. They could smell a different scent on him but couldn't exactly put their fingers on it.

Straight away, James jumped from his seat. His heart had skipped a beat after seeing Alan come out of the room with a stern face.

Even though they were cousins, it was taboo for a werewolf to chase after another's mate especially when he was of a higher rank.

"What did you do?" Jackson who was first to notice the sudden fear that engulfed his younger brother, asked, making all eyes be on them.
