The board meeting had ended hours before, and Eleanor was beginning to feel the dull ache of boredom. She looked around the room, looking for something to do with her time.
However, the empty folders and silent phones provided little entertainment.
Her phone suddenly pinged with a new message.
Eleanor smiled as she recognized Alfredo's name had popped up. As she began to type a response, she couldn't help but smile at the prospect of catching up with him and hearing about his latest exploits.
"Alfredo and Catherine are doing well," Eleanor announced, eager to tell her friend. "They've just returned from their trip."
Lolly raised her head from her phone, her eyes widening with curiosity. "Are they not getting married?" she inquired, her voice tinged with curiosity. "What with all the traveling and all?" Catherine's father had been threatening her to return home."
