Eleanor was still perplexed as to why Amanda had come to dress her up for her birthday dinner with Alan. Right from her head to her toe, it was as if she was receiving an award tonight.

She hoped so because she had been looking forward to it since Monday. She hoped it would be an extraordinary and unforgettable evening.
Alan's dates had always been wonderful, despite their usual squabbles. He certainly knew how to entice women, make them go numb as he surprised them, and fulfilled their fantasies.
Probably because he had been doing enough of it for many years. Or maybe not. At this point, he couldn't care less and all she wanted to do was to see him.
So, yes, she wanted to finish wearing the dress as soon as possible and rush to the event.
