Chereads / My Mythical Fate / Chapter 9 - Each Other's War

Chapter 9 - Each Other's War

Jody sat in the furthest seat of their class. She didn't know anybody except Zev, who had no intention of becoming friends with her; he had plans to make her life miserable at that school. Jody sat comfortably in the chair because the professor hadn't arrived yet. She leaned back in her chair, her legs crossed and her posture straight. The newcomer students in the class were all staring at her. She could hear them whispering. Most girls at her school dislike her, and she is unaffected. Boys, many men, were drawn to her charms. She can't blame them, even if, aside from her friends, most of the people she was in her former school were guys. Among girls at school, they shared insecurities, which appear to be happening in her new school. Zev and his two friends were staring at her as they walked in. It even surprised her when Zev sat down next to her. She looked at Zev, who was wearing a different outfit.

"Hello, Miss," the man said from her front seat. Then his other friend sat close to each other.

Jody rolled her eyes at him and turned to face Zev. "Why are you sitting here?" Jody asked, irritated. Despite her fears about what Zev would do, she couldn't overcome her irritation with him.

Zev moved his gaze to Jody. "This is my spot? Is there an issue? "

"What? There are a lot of..." Jody asked, then looked around and noticed no empty chair. Jody bit her bottom lip in frustration.

"Fine," Jody said, rolling her eyes at him.

The prof came a few seconds later, and the class began. Jody stood up when the prof took the attendance.

'Damn, what is this? High-schoolers? 'Jody thought.

The murmur spread across the class, and everyone was looking at her. There is a favor for her and against her. Zev glanced at Jody as he relaxed, leaning on the chair's backrest and putting one hand on the backrest of Jody's chair. He placed the bubble gum he was chewing on Jody's chair and sat as if nothing had gone wrong.

"Nice start," Zev said.

Jody sat down in her chair, staring at Zev. Zev silently grinned.

------

Jody noticed Zev napping in their lesson after about half an hour. Aside from the heat in their classroom, she couldn't blame him because the class was boring. Later, Zev, who was asleep, faced her. His hands were on the table, and he cradled his head between his arms. Jody kept her gaze on the sleeping Zev, resting her elbow on the table. When their professor called on her, Jody stood up and answered a math equation problem on the board. She turned her back on her classmates as she completed the problem on the board. Everyone is laughing at her as Jody turns around. She returned to her chair after completing the problem. As Jody passed, one of her classmates grabbed her hand and drew her closer. She told her in her ear that there was gum on her jeans.

"What?" Jody asked, then shifted her gaze to the rear of her jeans as she sat.

She quickly returned to her chair and covered her buttocks with her hand. She glared at Zev, who was fast asleep. Only Zev could have placed gum in her trousers. Jody had to go to the washroom earlier, and there was no gum in her pants until she sat on that chair. They did their class when the bell sounded.

'This man is insane,' Jody thought. She peered at Zev, suspicious that she had placed gum on her jeans.

She tried to get the gum out of her pants and furiously rubbed it on Zev's face, waking him awake.

When Zev awoke, he said, "What the.....?" Jody was walking away when he noticed her. When he saw the gum sticking to his face, he grabbed his face and frowned.

He turned to look at Kody and Tim, who were about to laugh. Zev looked at his two friends.

"Are you serious? Are you laughing at me?" Zev asked irritably.

"Why not? It's amusing." Kody said.

"Haist," Zev said as he rose and hurriedly exited their classroom. He instantly searched both sides of the corridor for Jody.

On her way downstairs, Jody noticed Zev standing in front of their classroom. Their gazes locked, and she dashed down the steps. Zev's expression expresses his frustration with what Jody did. When she heard Zev call her, she ran downstairs.

"Jody!" Zev says. "Jody! "

Jody turned around and saw Zev pursuing her; she didn't expect his unexpected appearance in front of her. He was astonished. Zev took a step forward and gave her a serious look. He looked up to see how Zev could jump from the second floor.

"Do you believe you can get away from me?" Zev asked. Zev instantly grabbed her wrist and stopped her from going.

"You smeared gum all over my chair. I'm simply getting back at you." It irritated Jody.

"Do you have proof that I did that, huh?" Zev asked.

"You were the only one who nibbled beside me like a goat earlier. Who else can put gum on my chair?" Jody was irritated. "Let me go."

"Go? Why? To flee once more?" Zev asked.

Jody yanks Zev's grasp on her wrist with force. "Let me go..." Jody said.

When Jody knelt before him, Zev felt like she wrenched his entire being. She let go of Jody, and his cheeks flushed. At that moment, he couldn't seem to breathe. Jody dashed away from him.

"Dude, is Junjun all right?" Tim asked.

"Junjun is a dead ringer!" Zev's nerves were almost out of control.

"It's important not to shrink..." said Kody.

"I shall take my vengeance on that woman. Damn, I guess it's broken." Zev said, almost in tears.

-------

Tim, Kody, and Zev are in the infirmary. While his face remained crimson, Zev held an ice pack before him. His face was still showing pain. He feared he would die since he couldn't breathe immediately, and his heartbeat stopped.

"I didn't expect your adoptive sister to be brave, buddy," Tim said.

"How can that one not be brave when Zev plans to kill Jody earlier? If you argue in court, he did it in self-defense," Kody said.

"Self-defense, my foot. Are you sure?" Zev said, irritated. "I have done nothing to her yet."

Tim and Kody both laughed. Zev seemed to be upset with Jody. "I'll retaliate when I get out of here," Zev said.

"What? Are you a child? Having revenge is only for a kid, dude." Kody said.

"You witnessed what she did. She humiliated me," Zev said.

"You're the first..." said Kody.

"Kody, are you my friend?" Whose side are you truly on, huh?" Zev asked.

"I'm not biased; I'm just stating a fact..." Kody said.

Tim slipped the ice cube into Kody's mouth, causing him to stop speaking. "That's enough. Don't respond just yet," Tim urged.

"Haist..." Kody said, irritated. He pulled the ice from his mouth and tossed it in the garbage.

"She will regret what she did to me," Zev whispered as he tightened his hand.
