Zev, Jack, and Loel were all sitting by the pool with their feet in the water. They were drinking, but they hadn't seen Jody. The girl might still be sleeping. Zev discovered that Jack cleaned Jody's pool and did other things to her that made her tired and sleepy.
Zev took a drink of beer before he spoke again. "It's also good that we didn't tell the omegas who the Alpha was."
"But he couldn't have killed Liza because he couldn't have known anything from her?" Jack said.
"That could be one reason," Loel said.
Zev said, "It's just sad Jody lost her first friend here in Rivendell. Liza asked Jody to help make it possible for me to allow her to have a date with her boyfriend that night. Jody was the way for me to let Liza leave the mansion despite the warning I gave her, and now someone she trusted took her my life. But Jody blames herself for Liza's death."
