Chapter 7 - Buying from the merchant

Chapter six

Kai knew that this merchant sold stuff a lot cheaper since he couldn't sell at wealthy towns, or he might be caught by the officials and since these were stolen goods, he didn't really have much of a choice.

"Alright well if you bought this sword why don't I show you the other one just like it but different."

Kai was intrigued so he followed.

The fat man lifted another lid off the crate and Kai could feel a heat almost burn his eyebrows off when he looked into the crate.

Kai saw a blade that was pitch red with a fire symbol running along the blade, it was almost like the ice blade which had a snowflake along the side and the cold air around it except this blade was hot.

Kai was defiantly going to buy this blade to because it was just as rare and well made.

"I'll take it."

"Haha good!" the merchant laughed causing his belly to jiggle.

Kai finally had two decent swords, but he also wanted to buy something special for himself.

"Hm, something special you say?"

"I do indeed have something special, but it'll cost two high grade stones."

Kai was surprised the sword would cost two high grade stones, two high grade stones might not seem like a lot, but a mid-grade stone was a hundred low grade, and a high grade was one hundred mid-grades so this sword would cost two hundred mid-grade stones which was a very big amount in an area with barely any immortals.

"Alright show me."

The fat man than proceeded to show Kai a dark red blade with groves that would pull your guts out while inflicting damage. The blood gave off a cold feeling as the surrounding air felt heavier somehow.

"This blade is called the blood claw blade, supposedly a failed blade meant to be something stronger, it was made while a blacksmith hammered it while pouring fresh human blood on it to make it seep into the metal."

Kai was also kind of freaked out by the process in which the sword was built but he also really liked the blade.

"I'll take it!"

"Haha, good, good!"

Finally, Kai and the man moved onto the herbs and treasures, but Kai only ended up spending one high grade spirit stone total.

He bought a plum blossom fruit and a violet cloud grape. He also bought a small celestial beast bone which cost a lot of money.

He also bought a few marrows cleansing pills, enlightenment pills and some qi pills.

Finally with Kai satisfied with these pills he moved onto the cultivation manuals where he was allowed to browse for a few hours to find the ones he wanted.

Kai honestly wasn't sure what to choose but he did find some he liked.

One manual he was sure he was going to get was called the raged berserker manual, it allowed you to absorb Qi into the body and you could also activate the Qi allowing yourself to gain a temporary rage making you extremely strong.

The manual was decent as it allowed you to absorb Qi pretty fast the downside was that the manual wasn't perfect and after activating your qi you would suffer weakness for a little bit making you vulnerable.

Kai was also wondering if he should get this Violet cloud manual, it allowed the user to absorb Qi really quickly, but it also allowed you to use Qi to move swiftly and more Agile in and out of battle. The technique was good, so Kai decided to get it.

There was also one last technique in which Kai had been close to not getting, it was called the twelve mammoth manual allowing you to absorb Qi into your body while strengthening your muscles, bones, and more while giving you the strength of mammoths. The only downside was that this manual made the user go through a lot of pain while absorbing QI sense it needed to break down the body and strengthen it back up, also the qi couldn't be absorbed very quickly so it was also a kind of slow manual.

There was also two other manuals Kai was sure he wanted which were kind of like the two swords he bought earlier.

One of them had to do with ice QI while the other involved fire QI but he would go into it later.

Finally, Kai paid the merchant twelve high grade spirit stones for the manuals which wasn't bad considering all he got, in fact Kai felt like it was bargain considering these would cost hundreds of high-grade stones in the bigger kingdoms.

Kai left the merchant building but while he had Ryan to help protect him, he also wanted to make sure he stayed safe and he didn't trust the merchant so he made sure no one was following him.

After losing a couple of followers Kai disappeared into the dark streets of the poor side of the village.

While Kai was walking in the dark alleys, he heard some ruckus, so he went to take a look.

"Boy you better hand her over or you're going to regret it!"

"Never! You better leave my sister alone or I'm going to make you regret it!"

"Hahaha, you hear that boys, Hes going to make use regret it!"

"Hahaha"

Kai climbed onto a nearby roof and watched as about ten dirty looking men surrounded a twelve-year-old boy who was also protecting a young girl around fourteen, but the girl looked sickly and weak making the two kids look pitiful.

Kai didn't know the full story, but he knew these men wanted this young girl and probably not for good reasons.

"Hm, looks like I found two disciples to take in."

Kai planned to take these two as disciples not just because they were pitiful but because despite the young boy being surrounded by men, he still dared to be courage's plus he protected his sister till the end.

The young girl was also a good choice because despite being sickly and in a bad spot, she still glared at the men making her seem like she had some fight left in her.
