"Are they okay?" I asked, breaking the silence that had settled between us. It had been days since Emma set out to find Dace. I had no doubt she had found him, but the real question remained: Were they both alright?
"I hope so," Grayson responded softly, his fingers trailing feather-light touches along my bare back. I absentmindedly drew circles on his chest as we lay intertwined.
"I love this," I whispered, a faint smile playing on my lips as I glanced at Grayson. "You here. It makes its easier."
Grayson's eyes met mine, understanding reflecting in them. "Yes, it does," he murmured, his touch light as he reached for my hand.
With a sigh, I nestled closer to him, feeling a sense of comfort. Despite everything, having Grayson by my side made them more bearable. In this tranquil bubble we shared, the tension of the outside world seemed grounded, leaving behind only the warmth of our connection.
