I ran out of the house fast on my feet as I followed the blood trail. My ears still ranged from the gunshot earlier, but I was already used to that noise. I can't concentrate on any else, only the sound of my fast movement and my panting breath sufficed the area, my flashlight on the blood trail I followed from the back of the house.
It was still fresh, and the trails of the footprint hadn't been blown by the wind yet, which could only mean that Emma was close.
Please god… let her be alive, from the amount of panting I felt like I might pass out from out of breath, the only thing keeping me going were my thoughts, my body wants to give out from the amount of panic but I couldn't let it, my legs ache when they shouldn't and giving off that sleeping sensation but I didn't let it.
I didn't let my collapsing lungs stop me either, I didn't let my weight drag me and I certainly did not let the tears on the verge of spilling from my eyes stop my movement.
