Chapter 5 - Participate

A few hours later after the teacher finished teaching them, it was time for their break.

"Your highness, can I talk to you for a few seconds?" the class president said as he came up to Lyra with a smiling face and she sighed.

"Sure, what is it?" she asked.

"There is an uh.... fundraising event coming up, as well as a few friendly class competitions; would you like to participate as this class volunteer in the dressing competition?"He inquired, and she smiled nervously while, staring at him as her friends approached her.

"It's not a bad idea," Celia said, smiling.

"Would you rather compete in the cross-dressing contest?" Cyris inquired, and she sighed before cracking a smile.

"No, not the cross-dressing; I'll participate, but I don't want to wear anything too girly and revealing," she explained.

"You are the best; we need our class to win; there are many pretty girls but none like you," the president said while smiling brightly.

"Thanks, I guess," she said as they exchanged phone numbers and he walked away.

"Cyris is right, you'd look good as a guy," Ceila said, and the princess smiled.

"Let's not go so far," she said, sitting down and pulled a bottle of juice from her bag.

'Ah, about that, you can't, the others will decide, don't worry, the president won't go against what you said about revealing," Celia responded, and Lyra breathed a sigh of relief.

"I'm a little nervous; how many days until the fundraiser?" she inquired.

"Three days from now, it's Friday, and since we don't have any exams on that day, we'll be able to have fun as well," Cyris replied.

"All right then, what's this I've heard about you trying to set me up on a double date with you?" Lyra inquired as Celia nervously smiled.

"It's not that bad, come on, you're obviously getting older and don't even like someone, what kind of thing is that?" Celia questioned.

"It's better to be single than to be played," Cyris said, as Celia pouted.

"You stay out of this," Celia said, smiling.

"He's right, Celia, I'm not going on any double dates," she explained.

"Fine, I understand, but if there is a nice guy who knows you, will you consider going on a date?" Celia questioned with a pleading face.

"Fine, I'll think about it, happy now?" Lyra inquired.

"It's funny how you always fall for her little tricks, sweetie," Cyris said, as Lyra buried her face in her bag and Celia burst out laughing.

"Let's get ready for revision, the break is over," Celia said as the bell rang and the others, along with another teacher, entered the classroom. Then they began revising for their exams along with answering questions given to them by the teacher.

Later that day, after school had ended, Lyra was waiting for the driver when the class president approached her.

"Are you waiting for your driver?" he inquired.

"I am," she said as he opened the umbrella.

"Seems like the rain is going to start falling again, I won't bite, you can come under if you want," he said, and she smiled before stepping under the umbrella with him as the rain began to fall again.

"Are you waiting for someone too?" she questioned.

"No, I'm just going for a run," he replied as she looked at him, perplexed when his eyes began to glow and she gasped.

"I see you are gifted, what are you?" she inquired.

"I'm just a tiger, and there aren't many of us," he replied.

"I see, either way, having those powers is pretty cool," she said, and he smiled as the driver approached and rolled down the window as she peered at him.

"You're late; I would have gone home with my friends, but they had things to do as well, and I didn't want to bother them," she said in a soft tone.

"I'm so sorry, it's been raining a lot today and there's a lot of traffic," he said, and she smiled.

"Don't be too concerned, it's fine, I had company, thank you president," she said.

"Asan, you can call me by my name, your highness," he said as she smiled and got into the car.

"I appreciate it, Asan," she said.

'You are welcome,' he said as she left and his eyes started glowing white.

"Your highness, would you like to go anywhere?" the driver asked, looking through the mirror and noticing her staring at the raindrops on the glass, then sighed.

"If you like water so much, why don't you go visit the glossy mystic falls near the castle?" he suggested, and she looked at him with interest.

"What kind of waterfall is that?" she inquired as they approached the castle, and he smiled as he drove into the yard, parked, and turned around to face her.

"That waterfall has been there for ages, I'm surprised you've never heard of it, it leads to the cliff and the very path leads to the ocean, it's filled with magical creatures, the water literally shimmers and reflects your true self back to you, no one has been there in ages, no one knows the correct path to it," he explained.

"Interesting, how will I find it?" she inquired.

"You can look for a map though, it's a secret path in the woods not far past the mountain behind the castle, yes there are waterfalls surrounding the castle, but they aren't that special," he replied, and she smiled brightly.

"I see, well, thank you for the information; may I ask how you became aware of it?" she inquired.

"You could, I heard about it from family members and other people, but these days everyone thinks it's just a hoax," he replied.

"Thank you for informing me; I will do some research and get back to you," she said.

"See you later," he said as she exited and he sighed in relief at seeing her happy face as she walked into the castle, a little wet, and he left.
