Chapter 9 - Rush

"What's that?" she asked, closing her eyes and listening to the music.

"It's soothing," she thought as the sky went back to normal and the voice vanished.

"I wonder what it was?" she wondered with her eyes wide open, even more curious about what was going on than before.

"I'm really tired, I have to start practicing for the competition at the academy tomorrow," she thought as she climbed back into bed, wrapped herself in a blanket, turned off the lights, and fell asleep.

Lyra awoke the next morning with her head aching, and yet she got up to get ready to leave for school.

After finishing her morning routine, the girl got dressed and prepared to leave, but as she arrived at the entrance of the castle, the same time Arion was passing by and he grabbed her arm then she looked at him.

"Go to the dining room and take a seat; you need to eat," he advised.

"Good morning to you as well; I'll stop by the cafe for something because I don't want to be late," she said.

"Good morning, I understand," he replied, "but your health is also important."

"If she's going to stop by the cafe, I don't see why not," Sylas said.

"Thank you, also; I might not be home until later today," she said, and Sylas approached her, placed his hand on her shoulder, and smiled.

"You're a big girl now, you can stay out late as long as you're safe, enjoy your day, and good morning," he said, and she smiled brightly.

"See you later," she said as she dashed to her car, got in, and left.

After she left, the girl went to the cafe and got a small box of items before heading straight to the academy.

"Your highness, you seem to be in a hurry this morning," the driver said as she sipped her cappuccino.

"Yeah, I'm a little late," she admitted.

"Don't worry, we'll get there soon," he said, and she smiled, then sighed, and clenched her fists as she remembered the melodic voice.

"Your highness, we are here, good luck today," the driver said as they approached, and the bell rang.

"Thank you, I'll call you when I'm ready to go home," she said as she rushed out of the car with her belongings, and he laughed.

"One of a kind," the driver reflected as he drove away.

"I'm so late," she said as she dashed to class, only to bump into someone and fall on her butt while the person grabbed her cappuccino along with the pastry box and looked down at her as she rubbed her back.

"Are you okay?" he asked and she looked up at him as he smiled.

"Yeah, I'm fine," she replied, with a nervous smile on her face, because the person was none other than the class president.

"You need to be careful," he advised as he extended his right arm to offer her assistance. She then grabbed his arm, and he pulled her up.

"Don't worry, I saved you this," he said as he handed her the cappuccino and pastry box.

"Thank you, at least you saved them," she replied, and he laughed.

"You are welcome, let's go to class, your friends are waiting, you can try on the dresses they chose later," he said as they both walked to the classroom, where the teacher had not yet arrived.

"Good morning, guys," she said as she approached Celia and Cyris, who looked at her then at the president, who smiled as he placed her things on her desk.

"Next time, even if you're a little late, don't run because you could have gotten hurt," he advised.

"Got it, thanks again, it appears I owe you one," she replied.

"You do, you will repay me someday," he said as he walked over to his seat and sat down, and she sighed in relief as she looked at the sibilings.

"What's the matter?" she asked.

"He is one of the hottest guys in the academy, and you two were awfully chatty," Celia commented.

"Cyris," Lyra remarked.

"Your majesty," he replied.

"She is connecting isn't she?" Lyra questioned.

"Yup, unfortunately, she is," he sighed and she thumped Celia behind the head.

"Ouch, what did you do that for?" the girl asked as she rubbed her head.

"Don't go connecting me with anyone, we're just friends, and I'm not interested in whatever you're planning," she said and Celia laughed.

"I know, I know, I'm just teasing you," she said.

"Are you saving yourself for someone?" she asked, as Lyra and Cyris looked at her.

"If Lyra doesn't punch you, I will," he said, and the girl chuckled.

"Don't get all worked up," she replied.

"Of course she will get worked up if you ask her that," he responded.

"That's enough, I bought a couple of pastries, have some before the teacher comes to start revision," Lyra said as she passed them the box and took a crossiant for herself.

"Thank you," they both said ]as they took their share, and Lyra smiled.

"They're crazy, but they're great friends," she reflected as she finished her cappuccino.

A little while after they finished eating, the teacher walked into the classroom and they all stood up to greet her good morning.

"Good morning guys, sorry for being late. We will start revising now. Sit down, and good morning, your highness," the teacher said.

"Good morning, miss," she replied as they sat down and pulled out their books, then began revising with the teacher, who asked them questions based on every topic.

After a few hours, the bell rang for break, indicating that their session with the teacher had come to an end and it was time for the princess to begin trying on clothes for the competition.

"Are you ready, Your Highness?" the class president asked as he approached her then she rose from her seat and nodded her head yes.

"Well, everything is already in the dressing room, Celia will show you what you need to do, she will be with you the entire time, the dressing room is one of the empty and old classrooms that's only used for these sorts of things, you can just pull the clothes over your uniform," the president said as she stared at him and smiled.
