Chereads / The Villainess Is A Beast Tamer / Chapter 45 - Ready For Departure

Chapter 45 - Ready For Departure

The last few days passed by in a blur, she couldn't be more happy about it. She wasn't actually sure what was going on after the shopping trip, just that she was so far behind in etiquette she was forced to practice nonstop, only excused to work at the sanctuary which her brothers temporarily took over.

Her feet had been sore from walking all over with actual books on her head which she didn't believe helped at all but took it as Rosalyn's way of messing with her. She couldn't have any sweets until after her own tea party and she had names drilled into her like no tomorrow. She learned more history of the world within the last six days than the entirety of the novel.

"…and that's all for today's lesson, your tea party is tomorrow so make sure you rest up and use the products I've gifted to you." The door to her room closed, she was finally free! Time to play with the beasts in the sanctuary for awhile.

Making her way to the door, she was stopped by Isaac getting off her bed and picking her up. "She said to rest." He stated while placing her on the bed and hovering over her, watching in silence.

She tried to argue that it just turned evening but he wouldn't have it, misery overwhelming her as she thought about giving all of the beasts head scratches when she returned, preferring their company over humans.

Despite all this, she managed to sleep well before being unceremoniously shoved around upon waking up by maids, heading her to a bath immediately. Her hair tugged at and scrubbed so thoroughly she felt as though her scalp would be removed. There were all sorts of fragrances running through her nose and things used on her hair and face in the span of her bathtub she thought she was going to have an overload.

Now awake, she was dried off and changed before seated at her dressing table, more lotions and perfumes on her, face straight and looking into the mirror only as they worked on her hair. Judging from the lack of light outside, it must be anywhere from four am to six am, did they really need to wake her up this early?

Hair straightened and done, she had to admit it were cute, far too cute for a villainess. The maids praised her beauty and let her see herself in a full view mirror, it was great to be reborn as someone this beautiful.

This was the first time she'd worn the dress, white on the inside, gold accents, and midnight blue primarily on the outer layers and sleeves. It was frilly with bows and pearls, she wondered in the bow on her chest had a real gemstone in the middle. The attention to detail with adding the family crest was phenomenal, a golden bird on it.

It has multiple layers of skirts, with a mixture of sheer and frills and different patterns to the fabric without making it obnoxious. Her stockings were thigh highs, in a black color. Her shoes matched, a pair of black heels with gold accents and blue bows on the tips, small lace designs attached. She nearly missed it, but at the back were also little bows, four gemstones that just casually went to shoes, it seemed.

Her bangs and hair were straightened and slightly curled at the bottom. There was a slight braid on her right side reaching to her shoulder, tied in a ribbon as the leftover hair flowed free to her free. On top of her head was another ribbon hairpiece resembling a rabbit, just how long were they going to dress her like that?

"Grrrrow…" she heard a familiar growl coming from the door and immediately turned to him. "Theron!" She cooed, calling him over as Nyx lost control of the leash, the tiger jumping over to her and almost rubbing against her as Rosalyn's magic prevented it, summoning the wind to pull him back.

"Don't get fur on yourself.." she ordered, eyes serious as Theron growled at her. Nodding in understatement, she tried not to let her disappointment show. She's barely got permission from Rosalyn for him to come along, she couldn't blow it so close to the finishing line.

Giving a finger to her lips, she looked at the tiger who silently acknowledged her, stopping his growling and was let down. Picking up his leash, she asked the question that had been on her mind for awhile. "What time is it?" She swallowed, raising a brow.

She was afraid of the answer, and she knew the exact reason why, too. "Almost six in the morning. There's no time for breakfast, we're taking the carriage now." She instructed, now her eye twitched again as she thought about how long the ride must be.

The tea party didn't start until late afternoon, just how far away with this ride? Considering the capital was a multiple day trip, she was just glad that this tea party took place somewhere nearby so she didn't have to sleep at an inn.

Nobles were ridiculous. She couldn't imagine driving hours in her past life to just get a burger and go home, this was essentially that. Going to talk for awhile with a friend far far away from you who won't even meet you halfway, grab a bite, and return home after a bit. She really wished this was like other novels that had teleportation gates.

While inside the carriage, she kept trying to fall asleep during the trip but her siblings wouldn't let her, maxing out her boredom as only Nyx tried to have a conversation with them. It became more awkward when the three just stared at him in silence while he continued to ramble, talking about incoherent nonsense.

Starting to ignore Nyx, Rosalyn simply talked over him and begun reminding her of her etiquette while she was at the tea party. She woke up at five in the morning for this nonsense, she couldn't wait to host the tea party and force others to travel over to her instead for all the trouble they've caused her now.

"..and that's the most important attendee." Rosalyn continued, but she paid no attention at this point, simply nodding along and pretending like she understood, she had gotten quite good at it. What a long trip today would be.
