Falling to her knees, a slew of curses escaped the girl's throat as she felt a knife ram into her from behind, straight from her back and into her stomach. she couldn't even see the face of her attacker as her eyes widened and soon turned dull and lifeless, making her entire life up until that point completely worthless! what was the point of her working hard if she was just going to die to some random drunk at night? she cursed up above.
As she waited for the sweet embrace of death, she instead found herself blinded by a blind light, and several voices and loud noises. "Is this a hospital?" She thought, maybe a bystander had found her, except for one issue. What kind of hospital had a chandelier above a patients bed?
She tried to move her head, but it felt quite heavy. She tried moving her arms and feet as well, but they were also a bit hard to move and control, but she got the hang of it. From there she saw the tiny hand which resembled a baby, "Haah?" she tried to yell out, only for garble to come out. Within an instant, she saw a face appear before her own, a woman with grey-white hair and what looked like a black and white uniform, not a doctor's.
She felt herself being picked up, although she tried to protest, only cries of a baby rang out instead of what she was trying to say. "Stop!" she tried to yell, only for it to sound like gibberish some more, to the point she felt tears stinging her eyes due to frustration beyond her control. "Darling, don't cry." she heard a pretty voice say as she was dropped in someone else's arms.
"Please be careful, madam." She heard the one who picked her up first say. "you're still recovering." her voice was filled with genuine worry, which meant nothing to her as she didn't know anything which was going on. Shaking her head, the woman holding her smiled. "I'm alright, Kathy. I am healthy enough to hold my own daughter and wipe her tears away." The one holding her was extremely gentle, she hadn't even realized that she'd stopped crying as a feather soft kiss was pressed onto her forehead.
"Are you alright, baby?" she asked, giggling. Her eyes were a light blue, mesmerizing and reminded her of jewels. Her hair was relatively straight, soft, and platinum blonde. Even the tips of her bangs tickled the sides of her face from how long it was. She was extremely warm and gentle, but an unsettling feeling resided within her stomach. Who was she?
All of a sudden she heard the door slammed open, followed by feet shuffling and a bunch of women bowing as she could not seen what was happening beyond the sea of heads. "Greetings to Duke Argyris." it nearly sounded creepy hearing everyone speak in unison.
Hold on, duke?! Those don't exist anymore! The sea of heads parted as she felt the woman get up weakly, bowing her head as her grip tightened nearly causing her to yelp. "Good morning, Duke. Thank you for visiting despite your busy schedule." she smiled, however it was filled with nerves. Taking a peek, she saw the man in question that commanded everyone's respect. Dark jet blue, almost black hair. He was pale, and dressed in extremely fine attire you'd only see in movies or read in novels. Most importantly, his most notable quality, his calculating and cold silver eyes.
Everything clicked, like a roped she was holding onto snapped, causing her to fall into the abyss she was going to drown in, reality. Duke Argyris, the father of the antagonists of her favorite novel, the head of the worst villains, and the one that just appeared before her!
"If you are well enough to greet me, attend tonight's formal dinner with Theia." His voice was deep, and nearly made her cry. he stroke fear into her as his eyes lingered, before turning on his heel and leaving. "Thank you, Duke!" she heard the woman yell out as he exited.
Theia Argyris… the worst possible character to be named in the novel if you wanted to survive. One of the villainess characters, who suffers tragedy one after the next. From neglect, bullying from the other wives, children, the death of her mother, being married off to a prince who they all suspected to be worthless, all the way to being beheaded in front of an audience for harassing the female lead, a true protagonist in every way. A perfect girl. As she lamented, the woman holding her, her mother, cried into her tummy. "He named you!" she sobbed, her daughter finally received a name.
"Congratulations madam, young miss!" The woman who originally picked her up clapped her hands as she once again took her. "Not to ruin the mood of young miss receiving her name after a few months, but the both of you must look presentable, the entire family will be there tonight as a formal dinner." Did she just say a few months?!
That actually did sound right considering who her father was, of course she wasn't too important. But why, just why did she reincarnate as the most misfortunate villainess throughout the novel?
