Chapter 2 - chapter 2: going hunting

I put the suppressor on the sniper to hide the noise I was about to let off. I took aim and started shooting.

I continued shooting until I hit level ten, and decided that was enough for now and entered the bunker and turned on the t.v., and watched the mayhem.

the news was talking about how this was the downfall of humanity, and how we were all going to hell.

Anna wheeled into the room and looked at the t.v. in horror. she clicked threw the channels only to find an emergency broadcast on the same news channel.

"what's going to happen to violet," she yelled worriedly.

I guess they had a deeper friendship than I saw yesterday. I grabbed my phone and called violets phone.

she answered the phone with a panicking voice, "now isn't the time to call."

Anna grabbed the phone out of my hand and asked her, "where are you."

"I'm currently inside an apartment, it's at **** Cherry Lane," she said in a hushed tone.

Anna looked ready to charge... roll out of the bunker herself.

while Anna was giving violet many questions, I was taking off my shirt and put on a tank top and a motorcycle jacket with pants.

I looked at my status screen and added some points before leaving to save my sister's friend... or crush.

I walked into the armory and grabbed a pistol, ammo, and my ice axe. I walked behind Anna and grabbed my phone.

"stay where you are, I'll be there in a bit. also don't make any noise, they can hear that," I said hanging up the phone.

"don't go," Anna said trying to drag me away from the entrance.

I quickly got out of Anna's grip and knelt down and looked her in the eye.

"don't worry I'll be back before dinner, okay?" I said planting a kiss on her forehead.

I left without waiting for her response, and I told the A.I. to not let her out of the bunker.

sighing I began to walk into the chaos-filled street. I used my phone and found violets location and quickly headed to the location.

I collected all the stones from the zombies that had them and put the 14 in my inventory. I went to the last location of violet and looked at the building.

I started scaling the building and trying to find my sister's friend, which surprisingly didn't take long. all I had to do was follow the noise of a door being banged on.

when I arrived at the window I saw 2 female guards pointing their weapons at the doorway that was breached.

I aimed my gun and shot the four zombies and quickly took them down. the guards got out of their shock and aimed their weapons at me.

"Who are you," said guard #1.

"It's you," said violet.

"Shhh," I said hastily, "follow me, the walkers are going to swarm this place in minutes because of the shots," I said as I hopped out the window.

they reluctantly followed me and I took them threw the alleyway or if it was a dead end I would parkour over the wall and take them with me.

we ran into our first problem halfway there. a horde of zombies, I took an estimate and guess around 69 zombies. there wasn't any way to avoid them either unless we climb the building.

"what do we do," guard #2 asked.

I began thinking and I unloaded my clip and took out all the bullets. I grabbed a couple of small pipes and took out the gunpowder of the bullets and put them in the closed-off pipe and added a fuse.

I made three more and grabbed my lighter. I lit one and threw it in the front and the next one was in the back, then finally in the middle.

I grabbed the trio and brought them behind the trash can and covered my ears.

there were still a couple of zombies that I took out, but I prioritized the crystals that were in the zombies.

(I should explain how the crystals would work. a white crystal can become a green crystal if properly refined. so 10 white = 1 green, 15 green = 1 blue, and 25 blue, equals a purple, 30 purple equals a red.)

I got a total of thirty-two intact crystals, not including the fourteen that were in my inventory.

I pointed to the alley and told them to go there. we ran and I walked to the bunker and gave a fingerprint and a bit of my saliva and the bunker opened.

"Welcome to our new home," I said as I entered.

Anna was waiting for me at the door and looking nervous but when she saw me her eyes lit up.

"sister," she said as she wheeled her way towards me.

"Anna," I said as I bent down to hug her. instead of a hug that I was expecting I was greeted with a hit to the head.

"do you know worried I was when you left me all alone," she said as tried hitting me again.

I sighed and gave her a hug, and pat her back. she cried a little on my shoulder and I stayed there for a while.

"What is this place," violet exclaimed in shock as she looked around.

"violet," Anna exclaimed happily as she went to her.

I let them catch up and I went to the spy room. it showed me everything that was happening on the outside of the bunker.

I noticed that there weren't any zombies near the bunker and I was satisfied with that. I got out of the bunker and was met with the other people watching the news.

"the military is doing all they can to provide support for the people. they have set up a refugee camp at *** ave. any person still alive in the city we highly recommend you to head to the shelter immediately," the reporter said before the broadcast was turned off.

"Should we go there Jessica?" asked one of the guards.

"it's worth a shot, Alice," the other said.

"you guys are free to leave at any time, however, violet will have to stay. it's not every day that someone befriends my sister," I told the guards.

they looked at each other and looked like they were having a silent conversation before deciding upon something.

"I have to go, I promised my brother I would meet him there," Alice said.

"no problem, just watch out for the hordes of zombies and make sure to never trust other humans," I told her.

I had to watch them leave threw the spy room, I began to watch the camera for any abnormal zombies or any humans, both of which I couldn't find.

feeling satisfied with the situation I headed to the living room and got myself ice cream.

there was another reason I had violet stay here though. that's because in the future she would be one of the best mechanics in the apocalypse.

"what do we do now," violet asked.

"Now I'm going outside and gather some supplies," I told her.

I went into the armory and grabbed my equipment, my armor, ammo, my ice axe, some tools, and ice cream and went back outside.

I was about to leave when I turned to Anna.

"I'll be back," I said.

"be safe," she said hesitantly, she most likely didn't want me leaving.

"R.T.M. begins the upgrade," I said as I saw the ceiling move and begin to construct a room.

with that, I left and entered the chaos-filled world. this makes me feel kinda nostalgic, I spent so long in the apocalypse that I had gotten used to it.

I grabbed my tools and began to carefully take apart the cars in my area. of course, there were a couple of curious zombies that I put down with my axe.

I didn't was to waste a bullet for someone so pitiful. I grabbed anything useful from the car that I would need.

the parts I got from the cars will be extremely helpful when I want to take the defense to the next level.

with all the parts I took the back to the bunker and set them on the ground.

"what's this for," asked Anna.

"for you... nothing, but for me, it will be a better defense," I told her.

"what are you building," violet asked curiously.

"an electric fence, it's better than having to kill the zombies by myself," I explained.

"When did you know how to make that," Anna asked surprised.

"let's say an old friend," I said mysteriously.

of course, said person was already in front of me, but how can I explain that?

"Follow me," I told them as I pushed Anna to where we needed to go.

when we entered the spy room I couldn't help but smile at the shocked faces of the two.

"When did this exist," violet said shocked as she saw the high-tech that was being shown.

however, Anna seemed to be curious about the computers. I of course wasn't going to tell them about the hidden console that controlled all the game servers.

"This place is called the spy center, used mainly for gathering intelligence. I use this to observe the outside world," I said as I grabbed three earpieces and make them put them on.

then I taught them how to use this, and I let them have their fun since there wasn't anything else to do in the bunker.

however I was looking for a stage two zombie, so when I saw tier 2 zombie I gulped pretty hard.

although the bonehead zombie was a pretty tuff appointment, there were some ways to kill it without any harm.

either stay on top of a building and jump on him, results may vary, or I could lure him over here and snipe him.

all I know is that I needed to act fast otherwise the blue crystal would be taken away from me.

I ran out of the room yelling "I'll be back" and quickly grabbed my armor and weapons. I took an m4à1, four clips, and my ice axe.

while I was adding the holographic sight to my weapon the door opened and in came the duo.

"where did you get all of this," violet exclaimed.

"bought them," I lied.

"you can't buy most of these weapons without a proper background check," Violet said as she began touching the guns.

"be careful. although the gun is not loaded they are still equally dangerous," I said as I put the gun on safety.

"Now stop distracting me I need to prepare for a major boss that's coming our way," I said grabbing a sniper.

"do you mean the big white zombie," asked Anna.

"yes, now if you excuse me I have to prepare now," I said as I ran to the roof.

I saw a group of military officials fighting zombies, and while that was cool, I had my attention on the Commander of the squad.

her looks were good, a solid 8/10, however, she only had a total of 3 troops of the 20 she brought.

now I was stuck with a dilemma, I could kill the bone head and return to my bunker or I can save her and probably get a new ally.

I equipped my sniper and I aimed at the bone head that was making its way to the trio.

I took the shot and hit just above the jaw, hitting its only known weak spot. I saw it fall and looked at the officer.

sighing I switched to the m4a1 and put the suppressor on the gun. I began to immediately shoot the zombies in the head.

when I killed the remaining zombies the woman in front of me holding her hands up. most likely knowing that if I wanted her dead, I would have killed her.

I reloaded and slid down the pool all the way to the ground floor, and made my way toward the woman.

I approached the child carefully.

[eva

opinion: nervous and cautious]

'good,' I thought. I pulled out my pistol and walked toward her.

"don't make any sudden moves and we will be fine," I said as I walked Infront of her.

"do you have any weapons on you," I asked.

"a knife and a pistol," she said.

"how many walkers you killed," I asked.

"... over 30," she said reluctantly.

"how many humans have you killed," I asked.

"...two," she responded.

"good enough for me," I said. "follow me."

I took her towards the bone head and I began inspecting the corpse. this would be a major discovery if I can dissect this thing.

"Help me pull it to the alley," I said as we began to pull it there. I pulled out my Bowie knife and plucked his eyes out.

"what are you doing," she asked curiously.

I put my hand into its socket and began to look around for what I came for. the blue crystal...

"I got it," I said pulling it out.

"a rock," she said confused.

"yes, now help me do the rest of the zombies," I said as we began to take out the cores.

85 white cores. (in total, including the ones that were in her inventory)

my senses began to warn me that something was coming so I grabbed Eva and rolled under a truck.

"What the-," she didn't get to say another word as I had to kiss her to make her shut up.

thank Hestia I did, because not even a second later a big pterodactyl kind of zombie landed right in front of the car.

I couldn't help but curse my luck. the pterodactyl was one of the most difficult mutant birds out there.

they used to be eagles but now they are way worse. the seek by the smell of blood, they can't see anything, which is an advantage for me but that's also a disadvantage for me.

Their hearing is very good. which is why I had to kiss Eva instead of putting my hand over her mouth.

I pulled away from the kiss and put a finger over my mouth, to signal her to stay quiet. I grabbed my pistol as quietly as I could, the pterodactyl turned its head in my direction and I took the shot hitting his left eye.

it fell to the ground not before letting out a shriek that I knew would call more zombies.

I quickly grabbed the green crystal and took Eva to the bunker. after the fingerprint and saliva, we entered the bunker.

I quickly made my way to the spy room to find Anna and violet already sitting there.

"What is that," violet shrieked.

the closer I got the more I wanted to believe it was a fairy tail. a monster so hideous but so powerful that it made the whole apocalypse untied against it.
