"Come on, ride on Storm, I'll take you to your around the city," Bruce offered. The moment the trio heard his offer, they excitedly climbed Storm and found a comfy spot to sit on. It is the first time they will experience flying, how can they not be excited?
When Bruce saw their antics he laughed and also quickly got on the back of Storm. What the trio of friends didn't know at that time was, it would be the worst day of their lives.
After a few minutes of arranging their things so it wouldn't fall off, Bruce finally let Storm fly into the skies. At first, because of Storm's slow flying, they enjoyed the bustle in the city. However, after a minute of the slow pace they got bored.
Nathan, who was the most impatient of the three asked something he would regret so much, "Brother is this the fastest you can go?"
When Bruce heard that, his smile automatically turned into a smirk, "You want fast huh? I'll show you fast."
The moment the trio heard this, they remembered how mischievous Bruce was to them every time he visited Nathan. However, it is now too late and before they could say anything, Storm accelerated about 10 times as fast as before.
He circled around the city 2 times before he let them down in a hotel in the city. The moment the three got off Storm, they wobbled to the side of the street then puked their guts out.
However, before they could recover and shout profanities at Bruce, a gust of wind delivered their luggages to them, Bruce then shouted, "Hahahaha! Gotcha! See ya in the Academy!" Then a second a later, Bruce and Storm was nowhere to be found, as if they just teleported.
"Damn it! I should have known he's gonna do that, I hate him!" - Angela
"He's evil *blergh*" Kai barely mouthed out, still puking in the sidewalk.
"Argh! I'll have my revenge against him once I got in the Academy!" - Nathan
When they recovered from their upset stomach, they finally got in the hotel and booked a room for 3. When they got to their room, they plotted how to get back at Bruce while arranging their luggages.
"I'm hungry, come on let's go eat, my treat," Nathan asked, the moment they finished arranging their own luggages.
"Uhh, I think you're forgetting something, I still feel so sticky from puking my guts out, well I'll shower first." - Angela
After they all had a shower, they ate together at the nearest restaurant around. They actually arrived 3 days earlier than the scheduled time for the acceptance test, because they don't want to sleep in the streets of Diamond City because all the hotels in the City is already fully booked. In the next three days, they had nothing to do except for stroll around in the market and try all kinds of food at all the different restaurants around the city.
Today is finally the day of written examination, even though it is not as significant as the physical examination, it is very significant for students like Kai, who is a pure healer beast tamer and doesn't have any offensive capabilities.
When the test ended, the three of them met back at their hotel room. Talking about their experiences.
"I think I did pretty decent, I answered most of the questions." - Nathan
"How?l It's so hard! I'm doomed! If I can't do excellent in the physical test I'm afraid I might not get in," Angela nervously said.
"You should have listened to me when I said you should review three months ago. I even gave you a review sheet three months ago just to help you, don't tell me you didn't even read it?" - Kai
When Angela heard that, she shut up. She knew that if she tried to say anything more Kai would nag at him more.
"Hahaha! You two are too tense, Kai give her a slack. You know how busy she had been in the arena because of how many challengers challenged her when they heard the news that she's quitting the arena to study here. Her reputation would have been ruined had she not accepted those challenges," Nathan as usual mediated the two.
"*sigh* I know that, I'm just worried that if her physical examination evaluation score isn't high enough, her written examination score would drag her total evaluation down." - Kai
"You don't have to worry about me, as long as it is not too hard, I am confident about my fighting strength, you should worry about yourself instead, you should have contracted a partially Attack type familiar months ago." - Angela
"Yeah! I agree with her Kai, we don't know what the test will be, you should have contracted a new familiar with offensive capabilities, just in case the test is unfavorable for healers." - Nathan
"*sigh* I've said this many times already to you guys, even though I'm okay with seeing beast fights, I can't make my own beast fight at all. Maybe if there's a way I can fight I might consider having offensive options. However, for now I'm already satisfied being a pure healer beast master." - Kai
This is also one of the things Kai found out in the past 6 years, he's too soft when it comes to beasts. Even though he can still watch other beasts fight each other, because it is normal for them to improve themselves through fighting. However, when he gets too attached to beasts, just like his familiar - Fleur, he realized that he can't put her in danger at all.
It is natural for a beast tamer and his familiar to get close more than anyone, because their lives are tied the moment their contract is established, so Kai knew that if he tried to contract another beast the outcome would just be the same. Maybe Kai's aversion to letting his own beasts fight might change in the future, but for now contracting a Healing | Attack beast with his current mindset, will just ruin the future of the beast. Because the more your affinity with your beast, the more you can influence it's future with just your desires.
In actuality, many beast tamers with the healing affinity have the same mindset as Kai in the beginning. Many theories has been made on why many beast tamers with healing affinity have this mindset in their early lives. The most plausible and supported theory however is that affinities can influence a beast master's personality.
Examples of it were, Fire attributed attack type beast tamers usually being very hot tempered, Earth attributed Defense type beast tamers being very stern or too serious, Wind attributed beast tamers being very open and carefree, and many more.

Author's Note: I know that many might not like what I did to my mc in this chapter, but I hope that you guys will still stick around and read my story. I just don't want to have a very generic genius with no flaws mc, I'm a fan of character development and I hate it when a character is too perfect already that any sort of change just makes him more and more boring. By having my mc be a pacifist 'for now', I can make the character development of him more visible. I just hope that it will work out in the end.
