Chapter 6 - Chapter 5

The kids were led to the back of the school where they saw a very large glass dome. Inside the glass dome were all kinds of beasts. Radiant Butterflies, White Magpies, Rejuvenating Carps, and Life Sunflowers were the most common beasts in the enclosure, which is amazing because all four of those species of beasts that is thriving in the enclosure is rarely seen on the market. This just proved that Kai's decision of attending the school is very correct.

"Okay! Kids are you excited to get your own familiars?" - teacher Ro.

"Yes!!" - kids

"For all those that already had their affinity appraised line up here, and for those that didn't come with me and let's get it appraised," instructed by teacher Ro. The kids were immediately split to two groups. Kai lined up with most children, while Angela followed teacher Ro.

The kids waited for the other children to finish their appraisal while chatting and bragging about their affinities. Kai just felt so out of place because he has no one to talk to. When suddenly an arrogant boy called his name. "You!" Nathan called Kai out while pointing at him.

Kai was baffled and looked around at his sides, and when he saw that he was really the one being pointed at, he nervously pointed his finger at himself, "Me?".

"Yeah, you." - Nathan

"Do you need something?" - Kai asked

Nathan walked out of his position in the line and walked towards Kai, when he reached Kai he positioned himself in front of him in the line and asked him, "What's your affinity?"

"M-my affinity is Healing type Plants," Kai nervously answered.

"Ha! how weak, I, on the other hand have affinities with Water attributed Healing type Snakes!" Nathan said, almost braggingly. "Because you're weak, from now on you will be my underling."

"What's an underling?" Kai asked, confused.

When Nathan heard the question he too paused in his movements and also questioned what an underling was. "I don't know, my brother said that if I want to be a strong beast tamer, I need to have underlings," he said after a few minutes of thinking.

"Really? Is that true? Why would you need underlings if you're strong though? I would rather have a friend." - Kai

"What is a friend?" - Nathan

"A friend is someone you can play with!" Kai said cheerfully, forgetting his nervousness.

"Play? but daddy said if I want to be strong, I need to study and not play," Nathan said. "Is playing fun?"

Kai was surprised, he had never seen someone like Nathan, a kid who don't know what friends are and don't know how to play. "It's very fun! Me and my friends play a lot of things! We run, we jump and do all sorts of things!" Kai enthusiastically explained.

"Really?!" Nathan was very interested.

"Yeah! if you want to, we can play rock paper scissors," Kai cheerfully suggested.

"What's rock paper scissors?" Nathan asked, confused, to which Kai cheerfully answered and explained how it works, the two then played the game.

Nathan was skeptical at first whether playing really is fun, but after just a few rounds, his arrogant demeanor disappeared, and was replaced by a very cheerful youth.

After a few minutes of playing, the other students finally came back. Angela walked over to where Kai was and asked about Nathan. Kai then introduced him as his new friend, which made Nathan unknowingly happy. Angela then revealed her affinity to her two new friends.

"Now that everyone is ready, we can now enter the dome!" teacher Ro said and led the kids inside the facility.

While walking, Kai called out to his two new friends and bragged to them. "I am good at observing beasts! I already helped some of my friends pick a beast suitable for them. If you guys want I can help you pick."

"Really? Thank you!" - Angela

"Is there a difference to whatever I pick? Aren't all the beasts the same?" Nathan asked, confused.

"Yes there is! Beasts have different skills, and sometimes a higher grade than others of the same species," Kai explained.

"Really? Then will you pick a good snake beast for me?" Nathan said, even though he is clueless about whether there is really a difference between two beasts of the same species, he knows what grades are.

"Of course, I'm happy I can help you guys! When I grow up I will also sell beasts and help other people find a beast suitable for them!" Kai bragged about his dream.

After they finished their conversation, they finally got in the dome, they saw how beautiful it really was, It's like a paradise. They then looked at all the different kinds of beasts in the enclosure, and their eyes sparkled with even more anticipation.
