CHAPTER 13: THE SAME WARM HUGS.
"I hope... You can save Father Emperor's life. I will help..."

Helian Chen's words were immediately cut off. Bai Xue Jian resolutely refused the favor that the Crown Prince wanted to bestow on him.
"I can do it myself. It won't bother the Crown Prince," he continued.

Another question was asked by the Crown Prince to Bai Xue Jian. He who was still lowering his head was grinding his teeth even more as if he couldn't stand something.
"Crown Prince, if you have nothing else to do, you'd better return to the East Palace. It's late at night, the Queen might suspect you later."

Helian Qi who was playing but looked like a sad person. His face looked gloomy when he was playing with his dolls on the bed.
"Prince, you are awake." Bai Xue Jian who had just entered the room immediately approached Helian Qi.
Prince Xuan did not answer Bai Xue Jian's greeting. His hands may be moving his toys but his head is bowed with his lips slightly forward.

His tone sounded sad, his gloomy face had now known the cause. Helian Qi was like this, exactly like a five year old child whining in fear from having a bad dream.
"Ha…" Bai Xue Jian sighed. Then the woman smiled and took Helian Qi into her arms.

The woman hugged Prince Xuan tightly while patting the man's back. Soft words, hoping this husband can remove his fears and worries.

This was the first time Helian Qi had felt such genuine affection from a woman after her mother's death. The warm hug that Bai Xue Jian gave him, was exactly the same as the affectionate hug the late Empress Yun gave him.
However, he immediately regained consciousness when he recalled the bitter times that had happened eleven years ago. Helian Qi opened his eyes again and withdrew the hand that had almost returned the hug from Bai Xue Jian.
Not long after, Bai Xue Jian let go of his embrace because Prince Xuan felt that he had calmed down. Bai Xue Jian looked at the man who was taller than him while holding his cheeks as well.
"I'll definitely take you to meet the Emperor. But not now, okay?" he said.
Bai Xue Jian's cold hand made Helian Qi slightly stunned and opened his eyes wide. The cold palms of his hands felt cool when they touched his cheeks. Again Helian Qi dissolved into a strange feeling when he received the tenderness that Bai Xue Jian gave him.
