The boys, along with me were gathered in my room. We were playing UNO after being bored to death.
'Not again'
I only got a single 'Reverse' card and nothing else… Just like in real life where I only have one thing that kept me above my peers.
Potential.
Yes. I won't act almighty and say 'It's the fruit of my hardwork'. Even though I put effort like none other, if it wasn't for my potential and talent, I wouldn't have dreamed of reaching such a level…
No… If I didn't have any, I would've just trained a hundred times more, to match the talent I didn't have.
"UNO"
Shikdai stated, he was left with a single card. I on the other hand, still had 14 cards left. I had to pull an extra 12 cards cause Iwabe plotted against me with the others.
Iwabe, Inojin, and Denki stacked up their 4+ special cards... and I had no way of escaping such a situation cuz I didn't have a 4+ myself.
But fate had other things for them. Shikadai, Mitsuki, and along with I who got a 4+ stacked it to Iwabe.
"Sorry, Inojin"
"Don't tell me--"
Iwabe put his own 4+, betraying his temporary ally known as Inojin. Inojin sighed, looking a little disappointed.
Then it came to my card. The next turn was Shikadai's, and I had no way of knowing what color he had.
Sigh.
I put forward my 'Red 4' and waited. Shikadai looked toward me and smirked.
"Bruh"
In the end, it didn't matter which color I had chosen. The guy's final card was a '4+' and he could stack it above any color.
"Tsk"
Iwabe clicked his tongue. Quite frustrated by the situation at hand. I understand his frustration, UNO is a game of luck, strategy, alliance, along with betrayals. Losing it ain't pleasant.
"What's up with you Iwabe, I see that you're quite ticked off from this evening"
Mitsuki asked.
"...It's cuz of that guy'
He said, clenching his fists in anger. It seems that my intervention wasn't necessary. Good.
"I hate this village… and it's people. That guy in particular is really gettin' on my nerves. Fucking bastard"
Shikadai stared into ceiling calmly. It seems that he has already seen the situation beforehand.
"But why the village?"
Shikadai asked, his eyes narrowed at Iwabe
"Hmph! Don't act like ya don't know… This is The bloody Mist Village. Just changing the name a bit and sprinklin' a bit of goodwill doesn't change anythin'"
Iwabe looked disgusted just by mentioning the name. His eyes filled with malice pointed at me.
"Don'tcha agree with me, Boruto"
"Yeah… A nature of a human is hard to change, no matter how hard may they try"
Even though my perspective is flawed, this much is enough to drive his anger further. Afterall, he is not in a state that makes him ponder deeply about the situation.
"Boruto... You're joking, right? I mean, they are our allies, why would they betray us?"
"Nobody mentioned anything about the Hokage being corrupt and the betraying type, Shikadai... Though the possibility is not low"
"As much as I hate to admit it, Boruto is right you know"
Inojin said, giving the final push to Iwabe who was trying his best to control his anger.
*Bam*
"Guys! It's Cho-Cho!! She's missing!!"
The door flung up and Sarada burst out in worry. Distress looming all over her. Shikadai exclaimed in surprised.
"What!?"
"It must be that bastard!!"
Iwabe, who was burning with hatred. Suddenly pointed everything to the mysterious man.
"Oi Oi, we don't know-"
Shikadai was cut off short as Iwabe jumped out of the window. Sarada without any hesitation, followed behind him, probably in hope of finding her friend.
"What are going to do now, Boruto?"
Mitsuki asked.
"Let's go"
I said before following behind their tracks. Shikadai and Inojin sighed deeply before following us. Denki had taken the long route of running cuz he wasn't so much of a great stamina guy.
.
.
.
.
After taking some shortcuts. We finally reached our destination. It was the memorial park of the Mist.
The atmosphere was very foggy. An average person could barely see through such fog.
"Iwabe"
I whispered to him. He was right beside me, looking at where I was pointing at. There were seven people and a tan-skinned chubby girl tied on a chair.
"It's you, bastard!"
Iwabe flared with anger. Ready to strike at any time given.
"Take a step further and the girl dies"
The pale-skinned guy with wavy black hair spoke. His azure blue eyes spoke dangerous in all sense.
"Let Cho-Cho go! What do you even want!"
Sarada yelled out, worried for her besty.
I slowly blended in with the Mist. Slowly, I stood behind Iwabe and reached for his ear.
"Kill him… now's your chance"
I whispered. His state of mind making it more easy for me. He lashed out in anger and rushed forward.
*Slash*
"No!!!"
A brown afro haired guy detached Cho-Cho's head. Sarada fell to her knees, her eyes turning crimson red.
"Aurgh!!"
Iwabe got launched back at the same speed he had gone forward. His body crashed at the memorial stone with full force, knocking him out cold.
"Good jod, Hassaku"
The wavy black haired guy praised the afro haired dude who had just beheaded Cho-Cho.
"No need to praise me, Shizuma Hoshigaki"
Hoshigaki, huh… well, I guess this just got a little interesting.
"You… I'll kill you!!"
Sarada was about to ran ahead, with the intent to kill. I held her back. By knocking her out.
"Hmm? Do you have a death wish kid… Decreasing your own allies' numbers"
I couldn't let her fight right now. Afterall, I needed her hatred to accumulate, and be released at the right time.
If she had gotten her revenge right now, my plan would've been for naught. And her being an Uchiha decreased the difficulty of my task.
Uchihas are always high on feelings. Whether it be love, they'll experience it by tenfold compared to the common, and hatred vise versa.
"No… Cho-Cho"
Shikadai fell to his knees. Having a hard time accepting such a reality. Unfortunately, Lee wasn't present here to witness such a 'calamity'
"Can I have the privilege to kill the son of the Hokage, Shizuma"
A guy with average height and average built asked Shizuma. He had grey hair that parted to his left.
He wielded the legendary blade named Shibuki.
"Yes, is that even a question... Ichirōta"
Shizuma responded with a smirk. Ichirōta looked at me menacingly before lifting his long blade and approaching me.
Shibuki, one of the legendary bladess of the seven swordsmen of the mist. It had two sides. One fully covered in explosion tags and the other was a sharp edge.
I hate explosions. When the enemy uses it.
I took my scroll out and opened it mid-air. I held my primary blade and calmly looked at my opponent.
"Hope you'll deliver"
