Chapter 6 - Liam Xander.

"Not just any stranger's car, MY car?"

These words kept on lingering in her subconscious. "Wait, what?" she asked herself.

Her eyes flung open the moment she realized her current situation, and like her eyes hasn't suffered enough, they met a pair of questioning eyes staring at her up close from the driver's seat. The rate at which she opened them seemed to have startled Adrian as he flinched and slumped back on his seat while holding his chest. "Jesus Christ, are you a witch or something?!" he asked. "Don't do that".

"S-sorry" she replied with her head hung low.

"Of course, you're sorry. You're not the one who almost had a heart attack!" he replied.

"I'll be back, Li. Need some fresh air." he said and left.

"It wasn't him." she said to herself whilst trying to sit upright. "This wasn't the voice that woke me, but then..."

'Oh my God.'

'How did I-'

'I always knew you were a fool, Cordae. But how could you?!'

She couldn't help but taunt herself inwardly.

Turning to her left, she saw him.

"Curses".

She looked at him with a pair of pleading eyes. The look in her eyes was suddenly replaced with that of amusement.

"I don't think he looked this hot when he carried me back then" she muttered.

"Rightttttt, I was on the verge of dying, how would anything look pretty to me?"

She stared at him even harder. His burgundy coloured hair was neatly trimmed. The top part of his hair was longer, while the back and sides were shorter; he was wearing a "two block haircut".

He had sea-rover blue eyes, which seemed to go well with his personality. There was something strange about his aura; something that almost screamed 'danger'. His Roman nose and half-dome cheekbones seemed to compliment each other as they both sat above his oaken jaw.

Cordae's eyes trailed down to his lips. He had lush red lips. She tilted her head slightly to the right just a get a clearer view. I mean, who wouldn't want a clearer view?

"Do you perhaps want me?" a voice asked, disrupting her thoughts.

"What?"

"Do... you... want... me?" he repeated himself, this time, one word after the other.

'Ha! There it is. He's not the "weird mister" for nothing'.

"I'm sorry, do I want you?" she said aloud this time.

Liam's attention left his laptop almost immediately and he fixed his gaze on her.

"Sigh. Get out."

"I am soooooo sorry, sir. I-i didn't mean to fall asleep, it just happened a-and..."

"Did you hear me ask for an explanation?" he asked, cutting her story short. "Just leave".

She couldn't seem to get what she did wrong. She was just trying to apologise. He didn't let her thank him, and now he equally wouldn't let her apologise.

"Well you don't have to be rude about it." she muttered while opening the door.

If he gets to be rude, then I'm done being nice too. tch!!

"What did you say?"

"I said that you didn't have to act all rude about it. You'll gain nothing by being unnecessarily rude. I genuinely am sorry for falling asleep like that. You didn't even let me thank you properly, now I equally can't apologize? Hmph. Nonetheless, thank you very much for saving me back there. And I'm sorry for the inconveniences I might've caused. I'll be sure to pay back, Sir. Do have a nice day." she said and let herself out of the car.

Liam didn't know what to say. He didn't even know how to process all that she said to him. "Did she really talk back at me?" he asked himself. He let out a soft chuckle. He found it utterly amusing.

"Wait!" Cordae heard, and almost immediately, she haulted. "Hang on".

Cordae turned slowly. 'What did I do now? God'.

"Yeah?" she answered.

"Fatso... You really do have some nerve. I saved you from those people, I'm still not convinced that you're not part of them. Like that wasn't enough, I let you sleep in my car. And all I get is... this?"

"What? Part of them? What are you saying, sir? I wanted to thank you, really. But you never even let me finish me sentences. Plus, I have a name, and it's not 'Fatso'. My name is-"

"It's fine".

"See?" Cordae said. "It seems as though it's part of you now".

"You look like trouble. I just hope we never cross paths again". Liam said and turned to leave.

What?

Trouble?!

Whattttttt??

"Who exactly do you think you are?" She asked. She didn't know when those words left her lips. But before she knew what she had done, Liam stopped.

She bit her lower lip in regret, but to some extent, she wasn't scared. She only asked a simple question which required a simple answer too. She needed to know whom he thought he was, and what made him think he could be rude to just anyone!

Liam turned and walked towards her. She limped two steps backwards, but in just one step, he caught up to her. He bent and leaned towards her. Cordae, as an act of defense, leaned backwards, but lost her balance in the process. She slipped, but in a swoosh, Liam's hand was around her waist.

'oh my God'.

"What are you doing sir?" she asked. She was starting to get scared. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean what I said. I say lots of dumb things a-and-".

"Who I am?" He smirked. "Liam. Liam Xander." He said and walked towards the direction of his car.
