"That woman wearing an oversized gray hoodie is Snow Lee, isn't she? She's gorgeous."
"Yeah. The CEO also labeled her as the trump card of this company. She must have lots of pressure on her shoulders."
Snow sighed before shifting her sleeping position to the other side. She had been resting for a while when the practice room staff started gossiping about her again. It's like she can't hear it. Their voices are loud as fuck. It feels like they're doing it intentionally.
Ever since she went to the company, she became the talk of the whole agency. Rumor has it that she had private training for the past years, and the company has been hiding her for some time to find perfect members. Don't misinterpret; her group's members are also good as hell, but she is the one who is gaining a lot of attention because of her pretty face and her asset, her eye color. She doesn't like to talk. She is the kind of person who talks about what is on her mind without thinking about what other people might feel. She decided not to speak unless it was essential, like on variety shows and interviews. On a typical day like this, she only says to her close friends – her members, her manager, and friends outside the company.
"Hey, you good?" She felt someone gently tapping her left shoulder to wake her up. It was Dalyn, the sixth member, a few months older than her. She only nods as a reply. "Alright," Dalyn responded as she smiled. Snow cannot see it, but she can feel it because that is Dalyn's personality.
"We're practicing again after two minutes!" Their leader, Hyolyn, shouted. Her voice filled the room enough to make Snow scowl. She wants to go home, as always. She counted to ten before standing up to stretch her body. A good stretch after laying down for so long feels fantastic.
Dong Hyolyn is the group's leader. She is the most responsible member and the backbone of the group. If she is not an artist now, she probably becomes the country's next President, as teased by her members. She is always calm and understanding. What a woman. You cannot find a decent woman like this every day.
"I'm so tired!" Exclaimed by Dalyn. "Hey, let's buy chicken after this. We will be finished by ten o'clock, right?" She asked their leader and received a yes as an answer making Dalyn shout in happiness. Dalyn has always been this energetic, and Snow has no idea where she got that energy; she doesn't get tired.
Today is the last day of practicing their performance as a gift for their fans. They just finished promoting their newly released album, and this would be the final act.
Snow yawned. She wants to go home and sleep since she stayed up late yesterday creating a new song. Tomorrow will be the filming for the dance performance, and the group's most-awaited vacation is approaching.
A few minutes after their practice, Adam picked her up. The two are in the older's car right now, and Snow is probably the most tired person on earth at this hour. "Luke cooked for you, so if you're still not hungry, sleep for a while. I will wake you up once we get home." Adam Zachery Fabian, his childhood best friend alongside Luke, is also her manager. Snow hummed in response as she closed her eyes. She wanted to eat at McDonald's right now, but Luke's cooking is better than anything in this world.
Adam woke her up as they arrived home. She got out of the car and immediately walked toward the kitchen, where she saw Luke sitting on the kitchen floor while playing his favorite mobile game. Luke looked up at her and smiled at her. "You're here; the food is still hot, so don't worry about reheating it." He said.
"Thanks, man." She answered before digging in. Luke cooks the best food in the world. Snow has no idea how he is doing it, but you can quickly fall in love with that guy because of his skills. It's incredible.
Snow's father left him when she was 16. At that time, Adam and Luke were already living with them. She has no idea where her mother is. Her father did not treat him like a normal father would do. When she turned 8, her father started teaching her how to fight, speak different languages, and use guns and other weapons. After that, he left without a trace. They left him. He doesn't talk about her mother either. She grew up without receiving love from her parents; that is why Adam and Luke are unique to her.
Adam went inside the kitchen and pulled a stool before sitting on it; he's brought his laptop, which only means he is arranging Snow's future schedules or answering emails.
"You know you only have one week to rest, unlike the other members, right? We still have to continue working for a few more music." Said Adam. Snow nods in response; it is always like this anyway. She rarely has more than a month of vacation because she is also part of the music production tea and has to do her responsibilities.
"By the way, DJ texted me earlier. Snow wasn't replying, so he told me that the other members won't believe him when he said he and Snow are cousins." Luke stated he is still playing that mobile game.
Adam chuckled, "If I were them, I'd also not believe him. Snow's not even interacting with DJ." He said, and Snow glared at him while chewing her food.
"I have nothing to say to him, though." She blurted out. She and DJ are cousins. DJ is a member of W:7, a boy group under XX Entertainment. DJ debuted before their group, so technically, DJ is her senior, but she won't call him that. Snow is already in her third year in the industry, but Snow cannot remember a day when Snow interacted with his cousin. She doesn't even smile at him when they cross paths inside the company building.
Snow flinched when Adam suddenly flicked her forehead. "He is your cousin; talk to him sometimes. Though he knows your personality, it doesn't mean you must constantly ignore him." He said and nodded at her after. She finally understood what Adam truly meant. She then agreed to talk with him, even for a short time.
"What did the director email to you, may I ask?" Snow raised a question after a few minutes of silence.
"Some bullshit that I don't want to accept. He wanted you to become the endorser of the clothing brand we rejected a year ago. The payment is higher, but I know you would still reject it, so I keep ignoring his emails for days." Adam knows me very well, Snow said to himself.
That clothing brand he was talking about was the same brand that became the news headline six years ago for mistreating its models. The rumors are still up until now. She knows that the industry is dirty, but she doesn't want to involve herself in a business like that.
"I heard they mistreated their endorser last month, which made them quit the company," Luke announced.
"For real? That sucks." Adam responded. "Industry's fucking it up these days, huh?" He added.
Snow stood up when she finished eating. She walked toward the sink to wash her plate. "I am going to sleep; I'm tired." She declared before leaving the room. The two men just nodded at her. Snow has a lot of responsibilities under their company; that is why they always let her sleep if she wants to.
"Yes. I won." Luke blurted out, and Adam looked at him. It seems like he won the game. Adam shook his head before standing up. "I'm going to climb upstairs, too. Make sure to do your job, Luke." He said in a severe tone, leaving the kitchen after.
