Kate's POV
I was surprised to see Clyde outside my apartment and he is talking to Anna so I went out and introduced Anna to him. The three of us talked for a few minutes outside until I decided to let them inside my apartment to continue the conversation. Clyde seems surprised to see Anna in my apartment, I can't blame him because I've never shown Anna's photos to him. I let them talk when they sat on the sofa then I went straight to the kitchen to serve food for them. After a while I returned to the living room where they were sitting holding the food I prepared for them.
The three of us were chatting nicely when suddenly Clyde asked something about my mom. He asked if my mom had told anything to me about dad so I told him that I only knew dad's name and the place where he used to work before. Clyde said that was enough information to help find my father. Clyde promised that he would do everything to find dad and I believe him because I have a lot of trust in him.
We continued our conversation until Anna decided to go home to her hotel, so we took her outside my apartment.
"Call me, anytime!" I said to Anna.
"Of course, I will. You are one of the reasons why I came back here," Anna answered.
I smiled at her and hugged her tightly then we said goodbye to each other.
After Anna left, Clyde and I went back inside my apartment. Clyde immediately hugged me tightly as soon as we entered the apartment. "I miss you, honey."
"I miss you too," I said and kissed him and Clyde kissed me back.
I noticed that Clyde's hand was slowly coming down and trying to open the buttons of my blouse so I immediately grabbed his hand. "Clyde, I am not yet ready, I am sorry, give me more time, please."
Clyde immediately looked into my eyes and caresses my cheek. "It's okay, honey, I understand. I love you."
I smiled at him and hugged him. When I let go of his embrace, Clyde returned to the couch and sat and tasted the food I had prepared earlier.
"The food is delicious, I'm really lucky with my future wife; she's a good cook as well so I have nothing to ask for." Clyde said with a smile.
"Thank you, I'm lucky to have you too, honey. By the way, do you want some wine?" I asked him.
"Sure," Clyde replied.
I nodded and took the wine from the fridge and I also took two wine glasses for us.
"Here, honey," I said and handed a wine glass to Clyde.
"Thank you, honey," Clyde replied and he filled our glasses with wine.
"So, how is the office? Did something go wrong while I was out of the office?" I asked him.
"Um... nothing terrible, everything is fine, it wasn't too toxic in the office today. Larry and I also talked about the new client and Mr. Smith."
"Mr. Smith? What about him? Why did you and Larry talk about him? Your negotiations with him ended a long time ago; actually I wasn't even your secretary at that time."
"Yes, you're right, but I found out some illegalities in his businesses and of course I don't want the company to be involved in the illegalities he's doing. I don't want that all my hard work for the company to go to waste."
"So, what are you planning?"
"Larry will take care of it. Don't worry we have already talked."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, don't worry about it honey, let's focus on our incoming wedding first. We are getting married soon. I am excited. Are you?"
"I am excited as well. When will we set an appointment for our wedding? I know some people who are wedding coordinators and wedding planners, they can help us for sure. We can set an appointment with them."
"Um, let's not think about that right now. What if, let's try to look for your wedding gown. I know a place where you can find a elegant wedding gowns. We could go there, and let see if you like it. What do you think?"
"Okay, if that's what you think we should prioritize, its fine with me," I answered even though I was a little confused by Clyde's decisions.
"Great! So, let's go by tomorrow."
"Tomorrow? Wait, we have work and I didn't go to work today, will I be absent from work again tomorrow?"
"Excuse me? Who is your boss?"
"You."
"Then, why, you're acting like your boss will scold you if you're coming for work tomorrow? Look, we are talking about our wedding here; this will be one of the most important events for both of us. Its okay, to be absent from your work even occasionally. I give you permission for that, okay?"
I just nodded to Clyde; sometimes I forget that my boss is also my future husband. It's funny to think that the world is really so small, what you thought was all just a dream will suddenly become a reality.
"I think I need to go, it's already late. You need to rest as well. You had a very exhausting day," Clyde said and then stood up.
"Thank you for everything, honey," I said and held his hand.
"No, I should be the one thanking you, Kate. You changed my life without even trying, and I don't think I could ever tell you how much you mean to me. I can't imagine what things would be like if I hadn't met you."
I don't know but suddenly my heart beat faster. For me that was the best words I've ever heard in my entire life. I have nothing to indulge my joy. I am now facing the person who made me feel that no matter what happens, I will be enough for him. Clyde gave me a very tight hug, a hug that I knew I would never regret.
