I was fumbled by his abrupt question, my eyes widened with shock. My pale face which was sweating showed the nervousness clearly. I was continuously moving my fingers which stated my anxiety., this never happened before though. I had to act fast, otherwise, they would know who am I. Think Samuel, Think!
"Are you okay sir, why are you sweating all of a sudden?" Doctor asked looking at me worriedly.
"Ugh! The pain is ..... still giving me jolts." I replied while having pain in my expression.
"I did give you a pain reducer but the deep wound would take some time to heal. The pain would last for a few days and you might feel these jolts but it won't last longer you just need to endure a bit. I'm sure you are that strong-willed the way you bravely fought to live there are rare cases like you who keep fighting till the end. " the doctor said kindly.
Another doctor came rushing into the ward panting heavily and sweating, he took support from the ward entrance door to breathe,
"What happened?" The doctor asked in an alarmed tone.
"Doctor there is a patient who desperately needs you!" he abruptly said while pointing the way outside.
"Ok I'm coming, I would keep checking on your condition, please do tell me about your details to the nurse." He said hurriedly and rushed outside the ward.
I sighed, I was saved by the skin of my teeth. I was still under the spell of anaesthesia, my head was feeling dizzy and my thoughts weren't aligned. I have to get a hold of my condition and act wisely, I need to embrace pain and burn it as fuel for my gruelling journey ahead. Night has fallen now is the time to revitalise me for a better tomorrow. I was sleeping soundly when I felt a streak of pain,
"Ahh" I cried in pain.
"Sir what happened?" the nurse asked suddenly concerned.
"It's paining a lot, AHHH!" I felt tremendous pain.
"Please be patient a bit sir I would give you the pain reducer." The nurse said politely.
"AAHHH!" I screamed in extreme pain while pressing my wound.
"Please try to sit sir slightly." She helped me sit with the support of the back of my bed, to take the pills.
"Uhhh! Please give me quickly or I would die with this pain." I said painfully.
"Here it is please open your mouth. " I ate the medicine while trembling in pain and gulped it harshly through my throat.
"You will be in relief soon sir, you might rest now to heal quickly, ok?" She said politely with a kind smile.
"I will try to, where is that man who was here beside me?" I asked in a subtle tone.
"He left a while ago when I told him that your condition is stable now," she replied.
"Did he tell you his name or something?" I asked.
"No, he didn't he just listened to my answer and left silently." She said
"Thank you, nurse," I said in a pleasant tone and a grateful manner.
"My pleasure kind sir." She smiled back.
The nurse went away to check on other patients, I looked at my chest which was covered with a thick dressing. I looked from the large, black-framed arched window towards the sky, the moon was hidden behind the clouds in despair, and the sky was covered in darkness no shine to be seen. My mind was captured in the thoughts of Alessio and Edmondson. How could I rest here when justice is yet not served? What if something unchangeable and regretful happens to Francisco? How long they will be stuck there and the justice has to await? What if Edmondson finds me here or tries to trouble Rosanne or Edward? What would be his and his devil boss's next vicious scheme? I stared at the sky and drifted into hypnosis.
The gleaming rays of good woke me up in the morning, and the pain reducer worked effectively and lead me to sleep at least. The doctor was on the round again of checking patients, he came near my bed.
"Ok Mr-?" he emphasised and prolonged the word, mister.
"Frederick Wilson," I replied.
"Mr Frederick Wilson are you feeling any better than yesterday?" he asked with a charming smile.
"Yes I am feeling better, when would I get discharged?" I said abruptly.
"Hmm I have seen your condition, in my opinion as a doctor resting for a week is suitable for you currently." He said while having a concerned tone and serious look on his face.
"A week?" I said hopelessly.
"Yes sir, your surgery was a serious one we need to be precautious." He replied.
"I understand." I sighed.
"Please provide your details to the nurse so we could approach your guardian." He told me.
"I'm afraid you won't be able to approach my guardian," I said in a lowered tone.
"Why would we? do you mean you're a" Doctor said while he hesitated
"Orphan, I'm an Orphan. I have lived on my own and fought for survival each day." I said while having a despairing tone
"I'm sorry sir, please accept my condolences. " He said politely and with a sad expression on his face.
"No need for an apology it's not your fault, after all, I will provide the required details to the nurse," I replied.
"Hmm, I would come again to check up on your condition." He said.
"Hmm, ok" I nodded.
He went away to check on other patients, and the nurse came to me with a clipboard and pen. She had a sweet round face, a cute rosy smile and a kind personality. She smiled at me and asked politely,
"Mr Frederick, I'm glad you're fine now."
"Thank you for giving me that pain reducer at the right time," I thankfully replied her.
"No problem, would you answer some of my questions?" She asked sweetly.
"Yes, I would," I replied with a smile.
"Age?"
"32."
"Height?"
"6 feet 1 inch."
"Weight?"
"72"
"Skin colour?"
"Fair as snow."
"Any allergy?"
"Haven't discovered yet."
"Any medical issue?"
"Currently only this wound."
"Eye colour?"
"Emerald Green."
"Eyesight issue?"
"None."
"Hair colour?"
"Black as coal."
"Any previous accident caused any injury?"
"Yes it did a long time ago but now it's healed."
"What was it?"
"It was a serious accident, it caused major injuries I was bedridden for 6 months" I replied in a painful tone.
"What?" her eyes widened with shock and her expression showed her flustered emotions.
"Yes, I did endure that all Feeling like nothing but a lump of meat," I said in a harsh tone.
"Ahh, sir I'm sorry for reminding you of those harsh memories." She apologised and a tear left her eye.
"No don't be please, don't cry for me," I said
"I'm sorry really." She said in a low voice.
"Don't be real," I said in assuring tone.
She left while wiping her tears from her face, and the man who I came in front of was coming inside. He would be in his late forties, he had a beard and his hair was grey. He was wearing a black designer suit accompanied red silk tie, his attire made him clear that he is from the riches. He came towards me and sat on the stool, he looked at my wound and asked:
"How are you now?" he asked in a gruff tone.
"Better than before," I replied with a cold expression.
"Why did you save my life?" he asked the same way.
"I couldn't afford you to die in front of me," I said.
"But why couldn't you afford it?" he raised his eyebrow and asked.
" It is because your life is essential for a more gruesome and significant matter than taking some pounds, it's a matter of life and death," I replied roughly.
"Hey! Who are you huh to tell me what is important?" he raised his voice.
"I'm the person who needs your help right now, I don't know if you are a good person in reality but what I judge from your act Is that you have still some humanity left. So please cooperate, innocent lives are at stake!" I said daringly while looking straight into his eyes.
"How can I help those lives, huh?" he asked in a loud voice.
"By telling me the truth about Edmondson Brown and Lorenzo Armani," I replied politely while clenching my fists and trying to control my rage.
"Huh? How... do you know ..... them?" his voice fumbled while he spoke.
" So my doubt was correct you do know them huh!" I smirked.
"Ahh... I mean ....no...I..... uhh.... who are they?" he stammered while speaking.
"Drop your act and cut it straight!" I said in a loud voice but lowered it while looking at the surroundings. My eyes were filled with anger, I gritted my teeth and the vein in my temples was shown clearly because of my severe violent expression.
"Hey what rubbish are you talking huh?" he tried to hide the truth and tried to prove him right while raising his voice.
"It's not rubbish and you do know that," I said, while my eyes continuously death staring at him and the expressions on my face clearly showed my immense hatred towards him.
"I WILL-" he shouted.
"Raising your voice won't help you hide the truth," I said politely but it struck like an arrow to him.
"You can't force me." He gulped and said pretending to be strong but as frightened from inside.
"I can't, but remember I came in front of you so I could make it confront you too!"
