ROOM OF SOULS
The woman in white felt sad for her son. She wanted him to find love and saw him look for it, even if he never really complained. She knew he did not blame her, but she felt guilt.
She wanted her son to be happy, to find love. The wolves she gifted her wolves with were twin flames; two halves of the same soul. Her son had been born before she thought about that so his soul could not be divided now, therefore she was looking for a soul that could be extraordinarily linked to his.
Although she could divide the souls into two different entities, she could not create them. Therefore, she had to wait for one to form so she could create the link between that soul and her son's. it was a waiting game she was willing to win.
Years passed, and her son was now fully independent. Powerful and wise, and although there was some bitterness in him, he was still just as good as ever.
She walked to the room of souls. The room was full of crystal containers organized and lined up along the walls. Thousands of containers were being filled by a dripping light that would later form into a soul. She analyzed the rows of the new forming souls, floating to reach the ones at the top. Souls were different colors, some would shine more than others, but each one was special in its own way. She noticed a new forming soul, its color was hard to figure out as it was constantly changing with each drip, but somehow it reminded her of her son's soul.
Was this it?
She'd have to wait and see.
"Still no perfect match?" she heard the playful voice of her son at the entrance.
"Maybe," she replied while looking at the soul. The more she looked, she felt disappointed, it was getting darker and darker, and stopped changing colors. "Maybe not," she finally replied, walking away from the soul, no longer interested in it.
PUNISHMENT
22 Years latter
Adira felt the air on her wolfish face. The air blowing from the east brought in the smell of the rouge nearing her pack's territory. She closed her eyes and concentrated on the foul smell.
Caleb, the Beta of the pack, noticed the change in her posture and approached her silently, allowing his best tracker to concentrate. When she opened her eyes, she was already ready to start running.
Just one. Coming from the east. She communicated with Caleb through the link, including the rest of the patrolling warriors. She started running toward the smell, the rest of the patrol close behind her, Caleb on her side. They trusted her, as she was the best tracker in the pack, apart from the Alpha, nobody was able to detect anything as well as she could.
As they got closer to the border, she caught onto three other scents. There are other three coming right behind the first, about a mile behind. She told Caleb who ran ahead of her in the direction of the border. They stopped right on the line dividing their land and the starting of the human city. It was a flat area, empty of trees and full of tall grass, although that did not block their view of a brown wolf being persecuted by three bigger ones.
It was a young wolf, probably still a teenager. The wolves behind it were barking and growling at the little wolf.
Caleb stayed behind the line separating the lands, waiting for them to cross over if they dared. Adira saw as the young rouge transformed back to her human form, she was probably not older than sixteen years old, maybe fifteen.
"Please, let me enter. They'll kill me!" she begged Caleb.
He growled at her, blocking her path.
"Please!" she begged again. Adira felt sad for the child, she knew Caleb would not allow her in.
The three big wolves were getting nearer, slowing down as they saw the child talking to Caleb. The girl looked behind her and took a step towards the land with the clear intention to cross.
Caleb transformed into his dark human form. In the werewolf community, nudity was a normal thing as they spent most of their time transforming from wolf to human and human to wolf. Clothes became an unnecessary expense.
"Do not even think about it," He warned her.
The three big rouges had stopped, about a third of a mile away from the line, just assessing the situation. If they got near the border, they could be attacked by Adira and the rest of the patrolling wolves, the child seemed to not care much though.
"Please, allow me asylum. They will kill me," she asked of Caleb again.
"There must be a reason for that, then,"
"Because I am a woman!" she yelled at him with tears in her eyes.
Adira looked over her small naked body. Although she was young, she was well developed. Adira saw hand marks on her arms and waist as well as a few claw marks over her legs, her hair was a dirty oily mess, and the smell of others mixed with her own came flowing into her nostrils. She was their toy.
Let her in. She asked Caleb. We can put her in the dungeons. Looks like a better option rather than letting them take her.
Caleb maintaining his eyes on the young girl, responded. You know the rules, Adira. No rouges.
She is just a child, what can she do?
This could be just an act. A performance to infiltrate one of their own in our land.
Two of the rouges in the back had transformed into humans. They were nearing the girl with hungry eyes as one of them addressed Caleb from far away.
"Do not worry. She is our problem to deal with," his voice was raspy as if he had spent the last hundred years of his life smoking cigarettes nonstop.
Caleb, look at them. Look at how they are looking at the girl. Smell the girl!
Caleb's eyes migrated to the men. Adira saw something in his eyes change as he looked back at the little girl who was now shaking.
"Leave," he told the girl.
Hearing Caleb's word, the group in the back ran to the girl and bit her legs causing her to fall to the ground. She fought against them, transforming into her small brown wolf, her claws creating marks all over her attackers, fighting to free herself.
Adira pulled on Caleb's arm, making him turn to her.
"What is wrong with you?" she was on the verge, wanting to hit her Beta as hard as she could.
"Adira, fall back in line," he ignored her, turning back at the massacre that had started.
"We must help her, Caleb. She has no chance against them," when he did not reply, Adira pulled on his arm again, harder this time, forcing him to take her seriously. "She needs our help!"
"I will not repeat myself, Adira. Get. Back. In. Line."
She challenged him, growling lowly. His growl was lauder, a warning to her to behave. She let go of his arm and took a step back.
The girl had accomplished to run away from her attackers, running along the line of the border. Adira smelled the scent of fear emanating from the brown wolf. Adira wanted to help the child, but she could not go against her Beta's orders. She'd be risking her place in the pack if she did.
Caleb gave a silent command and turned back into his wolf, following after the girl, making sure she didn't cross. Her persecutors ran after her as well, blinded by the blood the girl had managed to draw from their faces. Adira followed after Caleb, not sure if to make sure he didn't hurt the child or to stop her from entering.
The two groups reached the end of the border, where a long lake canyon divided the end of the pack. In her mind, she could hear Caleb giving commands and communicating with their Alpha who was already on his way to their location. Caleb refused to attack the rouges as long as they did not step into the land, and Adira grew furious, watching the young child defending herself.
They had her surrounded against the cliff. The girl looked behind her, assessing her options. Adira did too, if Caleb wouldn't let her enter, then at least she could get out.
But before she could run into the fight, the three rouges jumped at the same time with the intent to knock the girl out, and the girl jumped off the cliff.
Adira looked in horror as the child jumped to her death, the other wolves just as surprised as her. The three rouges looked over the cliff and growled at the body on the ground, furious because they did not get to her soon enough.
Adira ran to the edge of the cliff and look at the image down there. She saw the body of the wolf, red shiny blood coming out of her injuries. Adira was not sure if that had killed her, but the girl was not moving. She turned to bark at Caleb for allowing this to happen, but he was distracted intimidating the rogues who were running away now that their target was lost.
She felt her eyes starting to water but did not allow for the tears to fall. She transformed back and stood in front of Caleb. His snout was right on her forehead when he turned to her.
What? He asked, tense.
"Her blood is in your hands," she told him.
I did not make her jump. He growled at her as a warning which she was stupid enough to ignore.
"You could've saved her. You could've given her the chance to..." Adira's protest was interrupted by a large blonde wolf, Alexander, the Alpha of the Crescent Moon Pack.
The wolf turned into a tall man with dark long curls and tanned skin. Tattoos covered his upper arms, and a long scar covered his left pectoral. Adira stopped talking as the man turned to her with a stoic expression.
"Shut it, Adira," it was not an Alpha's order, but it was still the order of a superior. She remained quiet but her eyes did not avert from his, however, she still exposed her neck as a sign of submission towards her Alpha.
He passed her and looked over the cliff at the broken body laying down there. Caleb explained with detailed what had happened and ended up to that point. Alexander looked over the rest of the members of the patrol, other than Caleb and Adira, there were five more male wolves there waiting for orders.
"Clean that up, we don't want scavengers close to the border." As alexander walked away, he turned his head and spoke to Adira. "And please, make sure the scent is gone by today. It reeks."
"Take care of it. Alone," Caleb walked up to Adira who was still standing exposing her neck. She had now realized he would make her do the dirty work all by herself as punishment for talking back at him.
"Sir, I would at least..."
"At least what? Need a bucket and a mop?" he interrupted her with disdain. "Don't think I did not see what your intentions were, Adira," he pointed a finger at her chest and pushed her with enough force to make her take a step back. "They are rouges for a reason, and we take care of our own. We cannot offer asylum to any creature that comes crawling to our borders. No matter what they look like."
He was about a whole foot taller than her; they were so close she was able to smell his morning coffee on his breath. She looked at him, controlling her emotions, and nodded once.
"Understood."
"Get going then."
She turned around, ignoring the ball in her throat trying to get out and scream at her Beta. She could not, she was lucky all she had to do was clean up a body. She walked into the forest, looking for a way down to the bottom of the canyon. The cliff from where the girl had jumped was not the highest one, but Adira hopped the girl had made it. She could try to help her if she was still alive, although she tried to not let her hope grow.
She reached a point from where she could jump down, there was a rocky path down after that. She jumped and landed effortlessly, little rocks piercing through her skin.
"Shit." She mumbled to herself, sitting on the floor. She looked at her soles, only the right foot had a cut that was already healing. She pulled the little pointy rock out and flicked it away. She sat there for less than a minute, enjoying the sun on her skin, breathing in the smell of wet soil and trees.
When the small injury was healed, she stood up and cleaned her bottom in a rapid movement. If there were humans around, they'd probably think she was crazy; a naked woman sitting around and walking down a trail towards the body of a dead wolf. She smiled at the thought but it immediately went away as she started to think about the girl.
She hopped the little voice in the back of her head was wrong and the girl was dead, but she could not help but hope. She speeded up a little, then more until she was jogging.
The image in front of her was a nightmare. It was not the first dead body she had to clean up, but it still hurt her. She kneeled at the head of the wolf, stroking its fur.
The girl was dead.
She looked over the body, it had a cracked skull and probably a broken shoulder. When she grabbed her to carry her, her spine folded over in a weird shape. She carried her body as best as she could all the way over to the dungeons. Next to the dungeons, there was a crematory, as far away as possible, right at the end of the pack's land.
A few people looked over her and the body she carried, but as they smelled the rouge scent, they would either look at the little wolf with disgust or disinterest. She entered the place and went over to one of the tables and placed the body on top.
One of the people in charge of the place that day approached her, putting gloves on as he examined the body.
"A rogue? Looks like she got pretty beaten up there, eh?" he joked with Adira who ignored him. As the man noticed she was not up to jokes, he took the body and placed it inside a box. "I'll take care of this as soon as I am done with my other stuff."
Adira nodded and transformed into her wolf, leaving the putrid smell behind. She returned to where she had found the body and made sure the blood and the smell were completely covered to prevent the attention of undesired visitors. Humans liked to hunt in the area and their tracking dogs could probably take them there. Scavengers were also an issue as they loved eating the flesh of anything, including their own.
Adira? She heard Alpha Alexander through the link.
Yes?
Come to my office.
Yes, sir.
She made her way back, running through the forest, taking a direct route to the center of the land, where the packhouse was located. She stopped in her room to change into a pair of jeans, sandals, and a tank top. As all the living quarters were on the top three floors, she made her way down to the first floor where the offices and kitchens were. She walked at the end of the hall, past the large dining room to the big double oak doors. She knew Alexander and Caleb were aware of her presence, but she still knocked out of respect and waited for a reply.
"Enter," responded Alexander.
She entered the room, painted in dark green, with light wooden floors and three large windows behind the desk. Caleb was seated on a small couch located on the far right side of the room in front of a fireplace, Alexander was behind the desk, holding a ballpoint pen between his fingers and playing with it.
She stood up with her hands on her back, waiting for them to talk. In this pack, she was a warrior, a soldier who followed orders.
Was she still in trouble?
"What happened today," Alexander started. "Was unfortunate." He looked at her reaction but there was none to see. Her eyes looked at something on the wall, avoiding direct eye contact. "Adira? You can sit." He encouraged her.
He was now dressed in a navy dress shirt and grey pants. His voice was soft compared to earlier, and he pointed towards the other couch next to Caleb. She sat down and crossed her arms and legs, her back straight. Caleb had a white undershirt and black jeans; his arms were also crossed as he looked over at the flames.
"Caleb tells me you questioned his authority today." It was not a question, just a statement. She gave one firm nod and looked down at the floor. Although she did not regret her actions, she really believed they were the right ones. "This isn't the first time, Adira."
Caleb was now looking at her, probably thinking she would start to argue. But she did not.
Earlier that month, she had started an argument with the gamma. Then she did not show up for the mandatory warrior training and told nobody. Lastly, she abandoned her post during the visit of one of the packs seeking to make a peace treaty.
All because she heard them.
She had heard them talking inside their heads. Not as the link between pack members, but their private thoughts.
The first time was when she heard the gamma accuse her of stealing. Her mate, Owen, had been Adira's boyfriend when they were younger. But when they turned eighteen (when wolves find their mates) they had broken up after finding out they were not destined to be together. It had been a peaceful breakup until the gamma found out her mate had dated Adira, the one who could take her place given the opportunity. Adira hear her voice, as clear as day, as she thought about how desperate Adira was to become her.
Then, during the mandatory training, she had heard the warriors all at once. There had been too many voices for her to handle and, for a moment, she thought that she was schizophrenic. She had left to the doctor instead of attending the training.
And during the visit, that day she had actually met a really handsome warrior. Nobody found out why she was gone, and that was their secret because if either Alpha were to find out, they'd be in more trouble than just inventing she had had to go to the restroom.
Now, she had argued with Caleb in front of other warriors. Not a big offense in itself, but one more to the list.
"Listen, Adira. Just because Nora is your cousin does not give you some kind of privilege to disobey orders."
Nora, the Luna of the pack, and Adira's cousin would always try to get her out of trouble by persuading Alexander.
"Is this a formal hearing?" she asked him.
"It is if that's what it takes to hear your excuse this time. Every time you get away from something, the next time you just get bolder. We are family and that is one of the reasons why I put up with your shit, but you are a warrior before being my cousin. You cannot disrespect your Beta like that, especially in front of the rest of the pack." He scolded her, his voice maintaining his sterned level."
"I just thought that protecting her was the right thing to do."
"She was a rogue."
She stood there, silent. She was not sure if they would understand so she thought carefully about her next words.
"Did you smell her, Caleb?" she did not wait for his reply and continued. "She smelled like them and like many others. She was a toy to them, and you were letting her go back to that life. I know they are rogues for a reason, I am not an idiot, but she was still too young. No person deserves that kind of life," she stood up. "How would you feel if it was you the one in her situation? You are smart, after all, you are the Beta. How would it feel to be forced into things you did not want to?"
"And what makes you think that was the case?" He yelled at her, standing up; Adira knew she had touched a nerve.
"Because you cannot fake fear. And she was full of it." She told him, standing proud in front of him.
"Sit." Alexander commanded both of them. When they sat back down, he spoke again. "What were you planning to do then?"
She placed her elbows on her knees and pushed her dark hair back, away from her face. Finally, she looked at the Alpha's eyes.
"I just wanted to help her. Get rid of her problem and kill those rogues myself."
"You know you can't. they did not cross the border." Caleb spoke.
"Like that ever stopped either of you."
Adira did not see it coming, but she felt the slap across her face. Alexander's hand was red, he looked at her furious.
"Now you disrespect your Alpha?" he asked her sarcastically. He laughed, sitting next to Caleb who was almost as surprised as Adira.
She felt her cheek burning but made no attempt to cover it up. What hurt her was that he had hit her. Bitch slapped her more like. Adira had witnessed Alexander pushing other warriors, men and women alike. But she had always been one of the few who hadn't. not because she did not deserve it, but because they were family.
"You'll take over security escort duty. And your warrior privileges are revoked until further notice." He concluded.
Adira wanted to argue but arguing was what got her there in the first place. She averted her eyes and look at the floor, anger filling her.
"Am I allowed to go then?"
Caleb dismissed her and she left in a hurry. She closed the door, trying her best to not slam it shut. On her way upstairs, back to her room, she saw the Rose, the gamma. Her short black hair was tied back in a ponytail; it looked like she was back from training, as her clothes and face were sweaty.
Adira gave her a court nod and Rose responded accordingly. She was probably unaware of what had happened because if she was, there would have been a smirk on her face.
Adira locked herself in her room. Getting her rights as a warrior revoked meant she could not roam as freely as before. She was not allowed to train alone now, she had to go train with the other escorts. Now she had a curfew, like the rest of the pack. Now she had to deal with being an escort, only allowed to leave when the Luna left the pack lands.
At least she'd play babysitter for Nora. Adira actually enjoyed spending time with her.
She jumped on her bed face down, her humor getting worse by the second.
She had put so much effort into becoming part of the warriors. She had been a candidate for the gamma position for fucks sake!
Adira fell asleep, still furious at Alexander, Caleb, and herself.
And at Rose, for being polite for once.
For the rest of the month, she woke up every day at seven in the morning to attend training with the other six escorts. Adira learned about how they made sure Nara was safe from every point. Emergency exits, actions, numbers, and safe houses.
This was not as bad as she first thought. The problem was that it was a slow job, always waiting for danger rather than hunting it down.
Nora had been rather supportive. When Alexander told her what happened, Nora had agreed with Adira, but Alexander was big on rules and no exceptions, which had caused a fight resulting in Alexander getting even angrier at Adira, extending her punishment. Nora made sure she made as many trips as possible to allow her cousin to travel outside the borders.
They visited the city quite often, Adira taking the place of guardian as Nora wanted to have her closer.
They were in the mall, Nora looking for a present for Alexander's birthday.
"You should get him diapers," Adira suggested when Nora asked her.
"Why?"
"Freaking baby extended my punishment another month. He's just being childish taking his frustrations out on me now."
Although she was mad at Alexander, Adira made sure she did her job well. She kept close to Nora and looked around the humans, assessing for trouble. She could smell a few wolves from other packs, she made sure she identified them before moving on to communicating her findings with the rest of the escorts.
"Three rogues coming from the south entrance," She heard Abigail, one of the escorts.
"Two in the food court." Said Matias a few minutes later.
Both sent a mental image of the rogues so we could identify them easier. As we were in human territory, the rogues had every right to be there. That did not mean the pack members enjoyed having them so close to their Luna.
Nora was paying such little attention to her surroundings that she did not catch the scent of the sales lady attending over the counter. Adira, noticed her and pulled Nora away from there, and pushed her towards another sales associate.
When Nora realized what was happening, she pulled her arm back and looked at her cousin with a riced eyebrow.
"You get mad at Caleb and Alex for not letting the girl in yet you don't let the sales lady get this sale from me," She accused Adira.
Adira was communicating her location to the rest of the group. She decided to follow Nora, after all, the sales lady was at her place of work. Maybe she really needed the money and that would make her behave long enough to complete the transaction. She saw Adele and Margaret approach them surely as a backup.
"Hello! Can I please take a look at that watch?" Nora asked the rogue with a smile.
The lady was about thirty years old. She was dressed in a white dress shirt, with a red tie, and black slacks. She was stunned with surprise by having a luna approach her to give her the sale.
"Uh... oh yes."
She pulled a set of keys out of her pocket and slid the door open to take the watch Nora had pointed to and placed it in front of Nora on the counter.
"Thanks."
The lady looked at Adira but quickly avoided her eyes, scared of her.
"Relax," she told the lady. "This is humans' territory."
She leaned over the counter, uninterested in whatever Nora was shopping for. She knew Adele and Margaret were keeping an eye on the lady, so she turned her back and looked around the department. She got a strong smell of wood and jasmine coming from her right, but when she looked over, she saw a couple spraying perfume bottles on pieces of paper.
A foul smell came from the same side, and as her eyes landed on a rogue, he noticed her as well. Adira recognized the man as one of the three rogues who were following the young brown wolf from last month.
"One in the perfume section." She said and sent a mental image to the other members.
Adira was sure the man recognized her as he looked at her with the same lustful eyes. Then they traveled to Nora who was distracted paying for the watch she bought. His blue eyes had deep eyebags under them, his light brown hair was long and straight, and, as he smiled, Adira saw his canines growing.
Before she could move to protect Nora, the man winked at her and turned around, leaving the area. Two minutes later, Abigail reported seeing him leave along with a few humans.
"Are you okay?" Nora asked her when they left the counter. Adira nodded, ignoring the small moment of sadness she felt as she thought of the girl who would rather die than let herself be trapped by those men.
They left the mall and decided to go back to the pack to have dinner. Adira and Nora sat in the back with Abigail and Matias, Adele and Margaret in the car ahead of them, and Nathaniel and Angel in the car behind them. They were near the border when Abigail stopped the car abruptly.
Adira extended her arm to protect Nora, making sure she didn't hit her head on the seat.
"Get in the middle," Adira told Nora, who did as she was told.
Adira saw Adele and Angel already outside, investigating what caused the sudden stop. She could smell rogues in the vicinity, unsure of how close they were.
"What is going on?" Nora asked using the pack link.
A sudden crash on Adira's window alerted them of the attack.
"Drive!" she yelled at Abigail who maneuvered out of the road, which was blocked by a group of five men. Adira saw as Adele ran back to her car, Matias already moving it to leave the main road and follow Abigail.
Angel was on the floor, Adira realized then that the crash earlier had been his body with the window. He was not moving, most likely dead.
Adira felt a headache starting to form. It was as if she was underwater, all sounds were somewhat muffled, but the thoughts of those around her were as loud as ever.
"Follow the car."
"What is going on?"
"Alpha..."
"Nora!"
"... care of that one."
"He isn't..."
She could barely make out what was being said through the link and what was not.
The last time she had been able to hear other people's thoughts had been before the mandatory training. Now was not the time to get distracted by her surroundings, she needed to think.
"... Adira! Are you listening?" she could hear Abigail screaming at her from the front seat, driving at a high speed. "We need to shake them. We could go faster running."
"Maybe you could, but the Luna can't!" Matias argued.
"I can, and I will if I have to," Nora interrupted their argument. "I was a warrior before I was a Luna. Now, let us organize a plan."
They made a plan then. Nora was to run directly to the pack who had been alerted already, Alexander making his way over. Adira, as the guardian, was to stick with her. And the rest of the escorts were to run in the back, making sure nobody got near Nora.
As they tried to communicate with Angel, they noticed a small sign of consciousness. They would try to go back for him, but Nora's safety was their priority.
"Keep her safe, please. Keep them safe... You better stay with her, Adira," she heard Alexander's voice. It felt different, not like a direct link, but more like she was listening to a private conversation.
Behind them, the sounds of growls grew closer. Adira looked through the back window and saw a group of eleven rogues running after the car. Like most adult werewolves, they were about the same size as a horse. Adira saw them gain terrain and try to surround the car. One of the rogues ran closer to her side and used his body to slam against the car, making Abigail lose control for a second.
She floored the accelerator and made the car go faster, leaving the rogues behind, but they soon started to gain speed again. Adira tied to open her window, but as it had been smashed earlier, it was stuck. Unbuckled her seat belt, and using the metal part of it, smashed the window until it broke.
"When Abigail takes the next turn, we have to jump out of the car," she explained to Nora who was taking off her shoes, ready to do as she was told.
Abigail made that left turn and Adira pushed Nora d followed after her, entering the forest. They ran as fast as they could, Nora a little slower as she had stopped training when she had to start taking care of the pack as their Luna.
"Alex told me to keep going on runs." She made a joke.
"Should've listened to him."
The two women ran, Adira already recognizing the area close to the border. She could hear the other escorts behind them, slowing down the group of rogues.
They finally made it over the border, but they did not stop. Alexander was still closer to the packhouse than to them.
"We've made it over." She told the rest.
"Keep going, they are more than we thought." Matias urged her.
In the distance, she was able to see a large group of wolves running toward them, Alexander's blonde wolf was at the front, and Caleb was right behind him as well as Rose.
The group of rogues caught up to them, Adira looked back and saw Abigail, Adele, Matias, Margaret, and Nathaniel fighting the group of about twenty rogues.
"Keep running until you reach the house!" she told Nora. "Be careful."
Nora looked behind them, Adira could feel what her cousin could not say. She knew her cousin was a great warrior, one of the best before she got demoted to escort. Adira's duty was to protect the Luna and the pack. Now there was a group of over twenty rogues attacking them.
She had to fight.
Nora kept running as Adira stopped suddenly. She did not have to wait to join the fight as the first rogue launched himself at her.
Adira welcomed her attacker with her canines, piercing the shoulder and biting hard. The rogue whimpered in pain and tried to push her away using his back legs. She felt his claws opening wounds over her abdomen, but she forced the rogue to her side and used her front paws to claw his eyes. The rogue succeeded to push her away, but she took a bite off his skin with her, making him bleed profusely.
The animal fell dead on the ground. Her next combatant already trying to injure her side.
Alexander and the rest of the warriors arrived just as Adira started to fight against a black, balding wolf. She noticed the wolf was more out of control, saliva coming out of his mouth, his eyes yellow. The wolf was not normal at all, it was on the verge of transforming into a scavenger.
The black wolf was not even trying to protect himself; he just tried to bite her and rip off part of her skin. Adira tried to push him away, but he managed to get on top of her. The wolf placed its front paws on her neck, cutting her oxygen. Her vision started to get filled with white spots, slowly losing consciousness.
