Mathilda stares at Phoebe for a few seconds, while Phoebe is shooting her a smirk full of malice.
I know she doesn't know Phoebe, clearly didn't expect her to want a painting she's interested in.
When the fact is that Phoebe is here based on the rumors going around Eastfield that I am not in love with Mathilda.
"It's good to see Alpha and Luna of our pack here, except I'm gonna buy that painting." Phoebe looks at me and then Mathilda.
We step aside from the painting so it can be packaged. And I watch Mathilda's face forming into a frown, with her eyes on the men who are taking the painting off. Her lips stretched into a childish pout.
"How much is the painting?" I ask the manager who's standing next to Phoebe. And Phoebe's eyes widen in dismay. Because clearly, she didn't expect I'd want to buy the painting for Mathilda.
