One hour later…
Seth stood up from the spot he sat. He approached Raina silently, not wanting to disturb her as she revitalized her mana reserve in a meditation spot.
'She looks half-dead.' Seth observed.
There were dark bags under her eyes and lots of cuts on her visible skin. Even her armor appeared useless, as it was tattered like a ragged piece of cloth.
What Seth worried about the most was her state of mind.
He gazed at her once again. 'They say the eyes act as windows to the mind. If that's the case, Raina's soul is dead.'
Raina stopped meditating. She turned her head at Seth. "Is it time?"
"Yes. I checked outside. We can't wait anymore."
Just one look at the state of Lostvale was enough to terrify him. He watched as families turned prey to oneriths. And it wasn't just oneriths, there were other creatures mixed into the horde. All of them had a crazy desire to slaughter any living being in their sight.
