~
Riya watched as Meridith continued to hold Elijah's body and began to sing the song he was humming before he died. Her grandmother just sat there crying as Meridith continued to sing the song with pain in her eyes.
After singing for a while, Meridith stopped and continued sobbing silently. Riya wanted so badly to go to her and tell her that Elijah was okay now and better but she couldn't because she couldn't see her. Meridith suddenly got up and ran from the stream, Riya took off too, following her and wanting to see where she was going.
Meridith ran through the forest for a while and stopped in front of a wooden house. She hid behind a tree and watched the house with a vengeful spirit. Adriana came out from the house with a stone plate filled with seeds and started working in the garden behind the house. After watching her for a while, Meridith advanced towards her slowly and spread her hands when she got closer to her.
When she was close enough, she hid behind a tree again and brought out a silver dagger, she whispered a spell and used the dagger to slice her palm. Blood trickled on the blade and slid down slowly, Meridith smiled and ran all the way to where Adriana was bending down and slit her throat slowly and deeply.
Adriana fell to the ground with shock in her eyes as she saw Meridith standing above her smiling, she continued to make gurgling sounds and started to choke on her own blood as the cut on her throat healed up and opened up again repeatedly.
The spell Meridith had cast on the dagger allowed the wound made by the dagger heal up slowly and tear open again like a broken zipper. Adriana held her throat tight as the wound continued to heal and rip open, while Meridith just stood there and sealed the spell, using her demonic abilities.
Riya watched in utter shock as Meridith stood there watching the woman struggle in pain and torture as she thrashed about and stretched her entire old and frail body in pain. Meridith stood there and just smiled.
"For Elijah." She said.
Adriana looked at her in shock and continued to make gurgling sounds, still choking in her blood as the wound ripped open again.
Footsteps started approaching but Meridith still stood there unshaken, Riya watched as Tira came into view and paused in utter shock when she saw her mother in that state and Meridith holding a bloodied knife.
"Mother!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!." Tira screamed and threw a spelled dagger at Meridith.
Meridith dodged the weapon and stepped away from Adriana still smiling.
"Mother?" Riya thought out loud.
"Ohh that explains that night at the initiation, like mother like daughter I guess." She muttered to herself.
Tira ran to her mother's side and tried to undo the spell but couldn't, she tried and tried repeatedly but just couldn't. She then looked up at Meridith who was still standing there watching the whole show.
"Why?." She whispered with anger and tears in her eyes.
"Blood begets blood, betrayal begets death." She said, pointing the knife at Adriana.
"Heal her." Tira screamed.
But instead, Meridith turned and disappeared. Riya continued to watch in shock till the memory faded.
"Did that thrill you?" A female voice spoke behind her.
Riya jumped up and turned abruptly. She saw a tall slender woman behind her with long white hair and silver eyes, she was dressed in a long flowing black dress with a belt at her midriff, the dress contrasted with her pale white skin.
"Who are you?." Riya asked, carefully studying the woman.
"My mother bled out till she died, I had to poison her to put her out of her misery and the keepers said she deserved it for killing one of her own." The woman said smiling.
"Tira." Riya whispered and started to take steps backwards.
Tira moved her hands and branches from a nearby tree wrapped and restrained Riya, it suspended Riya from the ground while Tira twisted her hands so it wrapped her more tightly. Riya screamed as she suddenly felt something flow through her body and immediately, Tira's eyes shone in shock as Riya's eyes glowed and turned silver. The symbol on her forehead glowed and the branches twisted and burst into pieces.
Tira watched slowly as she descended, with her eyes and symbol still glowing.
"Well let the party begin." Tira said as she threw a dagger at Riya.
Riya moved to the side and dodged the dagger, she raised her hands and slammed them together, making the trees Tira was standing in between almost crush her but Tira jumped out just in time.
They continued to fight, each throwing things at the other and commanding the elements around them until Riya waved her hands to the right with all her might, sending Tira flying and hitting a tree. Tira fell to the ground and became unconscious, Riya walked up to her and checked her breathing, she was breathing slowly. She seemed to have fainted.
"Riya!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Riya paused for a second at the sound of Voleth Meir's voice calling out to her.
"Come back home, it's time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
She immediately looked down and still saw Tira unconscious, she stepped back slowly as the forest started to crumble around her, she looked around confused.
"You need to come back right now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. She heard Voleth Meir scream again in her mind."
She bent down and held Tira's hands. She tried concentrating and blocked the sound of everything around her. For a second, everything was silent, then something surged through her and when she opened her eyes, Tira's symbol on her forehead was glowing. Riya looked down at their hands and saw a white light covering their joined hands. Tira woke up with her eyes glowing brightly. Riya released her and stepped back.
"It's all crumbling, you have to go." Riya shouted to her as the sky started to turn red and the ground splitting in two.
Tira continued to watch her in disbelief as everything continued to crumble around them.
Riya spun with her hands spread wide open and said the words silently.
"Parakaló me párte spíti."
She spun and paused, then with her hands going anticlockwise, she drew the imaginary circle. Immediately, a red portal opened up in front of her with a blinding light, she stepped into the portal and disappeared.
Riya opened her eyes and saw Elijah and Voleth Meir by her side with Rick holding her. She wasn't aware that her eyes were still glowing and her hair had turned white.
"Welcome back Meridith." Voleth Meir said smiling.
Elijah touched her head and smiled, while Rick continued to hold her.
"Welcome back kiddo." He said.
Riya stood up from Rick's hold and threw her arms around him hugging him.
" Uncle Elijah." She whispered.
"My princess." He said smiling as he hugged her tight.
Rick looked from Voleth Meir to them and back to Voleth Meir.
"Told you you'd get it along the way." She said smiling at Rick.
After staying that way for a while, she withdrew from the hug to take a close look at his face and smiled.
"You look like shit in this body, I've seen better." She said laughing.
"Yeah right." Elijah replied smiling.
"It's creepy that he can smile." Rick whispered to Voleth Meir.
"I know." Voleth replied him chuckling.
Riya turned and hugged Rick tightly. Rick smiled and hug her back. He pulled out of the hug and kissed her forehead affectionately.
"I love your new look." He said smiling.
"New look?" She asked and stood up.
Riya went to the bathroom and closed the door. Few seconds later, she screamed continuously for some minutes before she finally stopped.
"You think she's fine?." Rick asked, looking worried.
"She'll get over it." Voleth said smiling.
Elijah went to sit in the corner and kept laughing while Voleth Meir joined him. Riya finally came out after a while with her hair pulled up in a ponytail.
"My eyes are silver Voleth Meir, it's scary." She said to Voleth Meir.
"I can clearly see." Voleth Meir said chuckling.
Riya sat down with Rick joining her shortly on the couch as she looked out the window.
"They're still out there, waiting for nightfall." Riya said.
"Yeah they are." Elijah replied.
Outside the house in an alley close by, Adonis paced about with Tira standing in front of him as he paced back and forth.
" Why did you fail?." He paused and asked her.
"She suddenly regained all her powers." Tira replied, deep in her own thoughts.
Adonis continued to pace back and forth again with his hands folded behind his back. He suddenly turned and disappeared. Tira looked back at the house in thoughts.
"Why did you rescue me?"
"What are you trying to prove?"
"What is going on in that head of yours?"
These were the questions that flooded her mind as she looked back at the house. After gathering her thoughts, she whispered a spell and vanished.
