Lydia felt like a small fox constantly struggling outside, in front of wild wolves and hungry leopards. She pulled out her sharp teeth and claws to show her fierceness without hesitation. But when she meets the king of the jungle, a truly formidable tiger, the fear inside her becomes evident!
"Ouch, why am I so useless..." Lydia groans on her own. She kept banging her head in disappointment.
Her odd behavior made the driver sitting in front of her confused and continues to look back at her. Lydia sighed and attempted to cool off again. She immediately told her driver as if nothing had happened. "Take me to the head office of the Lizzie Ahn Corporation. Thank you, sir."
The driver nodded slowly, but he was clearly surprised by Lydia's quick change of expression. While on the route, he continued to watch Lydia through the windscreen. Lydia knew that the chauffeur sent by Old Madam Chang must have been someone she could rely on. So, she can relax while she went to work. After all, William's baby was still in her womb, that's way she wasn't worried about that driver would be hurting her.
Upon arrival at Lizzie Ahn Company's headquarters, Lydia suddenly returned to her usual calm and charm. She entered the company and immediately ordered the secretary to open the shareholders meeting. She instructed her to begin the meeting in half an hour.
But as Lydia expected, the shareholders, who mostly worked with Archie to destroy her company, deliberately arrived late. When the shareholders arrived, Lydia took a look and said coldly, "Is this how the shareholders of Lizzie Ahn Company behave? You know how to read the time, right? Has the secretary indicated that the meeting will begin in 30 minutes? But how dare you show up late and keep me waiting."
The shareholders kept their mouths shut and looked at each other. Lydia, who was fed up with seeing their behavior, continued the conversation, "I think everyone already knows that I received money from the Chang Family. Negative news about Lizzie Ahn Company were also explained. Lizzie Ahn's CEO is still my father, Lewis Ahn. I will represent my father as the Executive Director of the Lizzie Ahn Company. All his jobs will be taken away from me until my father gets better. Does anybody still have a problem with that?"
The shareholders nodded and smiled, "Executive Director Ahn, you were able to obtain funds from the Chang Family. How else are we going to disagree?"
"Yes, the Chang Family can supply us with this amount of money. This shows that in the future we can develop even further. We also need to ask Executive Director Lydia to work harder."
"You see, indeed, Executive Director Ahn is so skillful! Will she be generous enough to teach us how to get the funds too?" The shareholders continued to make fun of her.
Lydia shrunk her eyes and looked at the shareholders who praised her, even though she clearly knew it was a mockery. She smiles slowly and thought she should remain strong against all. She would remembered the faces of disgruntled shareholders who stomped on the Ahn Family in hell after her father fell ill. But now that she still had patience, she had to straighten things out first. Then chase those shareholders out of the company one by one.
"That's right, Executive Director Ahn is very smart. She can even make connections with the largest company in the city, Chang Family." Archie Kwan entered the meeting room from the outside, laughing at the same time. "How could we dare to disagree? We are an ordinary person, after all."
Lydia was reluctant to see Archie Kwan. So she stood up and smiled at the shareholders, "If there is no disagreement, we will close this meeting."
Archie Kwan was sniffing around and staring at Lydia, "Hold on, I'm a shareholder in the company too. Why would you open a shareholder meeting without telling me?"
Lydia turned towards Archie Kwan and said with a grin, "In accordance with the rules of the meeting of shareholders of the company, shareholders whose shares are less than 5%, the Executive Director may consider not to inform that person. Unfortunately, the shares of Manager Kwan do not reach 5%."
Archie Kwan looked at Lydia and spoke with an upset smile, "Big Miss Ahn, you are truly a great person. Now that you have ties to the Chang Family, you're using your power to mistreat us? How did you get rid of me? You think Andrew Chang can protect you for all time? The funds you brought back from selling yourself, I really want to know whether, upon your father's awakening, will you feel proud or ashamed?"
"Do you know the most embarrassing part of my life? The fact that I've had a relationship in the past with you. That's the biggest embarrassment my father's ever had in his life. I can't believe there's something more than that. And don't make up stories about me and the Lord of the Chang Family. I don't think the Chang Family would want to hear about those types of scandals."Lydia said so far, with a smiling face.
She wasn't lying in the first place.. If the scandal between her and Andrew Chang kept spreading, it would certainly irritate the Chang Family. After all, Andrew Chang was her second uncle now as well. Lydia warned Archie Kwan not to save her small life, and she didn't like adding to the scandals she was disgusted with.
"Come on, enough with the fuss. We are all shareholders in this Lizzie Ahn Company. We should be united to make this company grow. If we quarrel like that, it won't look good on the staff. Lydia, you should be more tolerant, you're a woman, remember. You shouldn't act so mighty and arrogantly, it wasn't good for your reputation. Forget the past, things are good now. You are an important part of the company. Your relationship with Archie was so good, and now fighting like that is very disgraceful." Immediately, some shareholders made up by laughing.
Lydia spotted the shareholder, she knew that man was getting along with Archie Kwan. He made her reconcile with Archie, to avoid embarrassing the position of Archie Kwan. If he really wanted her to made up, when Lydia was insulted by Archie Kwan earlier, why did he keep quiet? Why did he only talk about it when Lydia scolded Archie Kwan?
Lydia laughs, uttering firmly with a gentle voice, "Archie Kwan and I will never be reconciled forever. I'm not going to tolerate Archie Kwan. From here on out, wherever I am, that means there should be no more presence of Archie Kwan!"
After Lydia finished saying, the people around kept their mouths shut. Everyone knew the story of Lydia and Archie Kwan in the past. She had such a grudge against Archie Kwan, it wasn't a secret for anybody. Lydia spotted everyone, then she walked out of the meeting room. Upon leaving the meeting room, her cell phone rang immediately. Lydia pulled it out and checked the number on the screen, it was an unknown number.
Lydia hesitated for some time before picking up the telephone. When the call was connected, Lydia heard the voice of Old Madam Chang at once. "Lydia, how about your work? I'm just telling you, don't get rain on like yesterday. Your baby is different, he is weaker and in need of your protection."
Lydia immediately went sideways and said softly, "Of course, Grandmother, relax, I will take good care of this baby. I will never let anything happen again like yesterday. You just have to have faith in me. I love this baby as well..."
Lydia then lifting her hand and caressing her belly. After that, she smiled and said, "He is not just a child in the Chang Family, but he is also my first child."
