We all sat in silence trying to figure out what to. It just seemed so unfortunate that Sapphire's mate had to be the enemy. I knew she was probably crying her eyes out trying to figure a way out of this mess. I couldn't blame her. I would be doing the same thing in her situation.
She had to choose whether or not to be with her mate, although he probably is some kind of tyrant, or stand her ground and hope that she could somehow save her family and pack.
"The alpha won't be happy when he hears about this," said Ruby after a while.
"We all know that Ruby. What we don't know is whether or not he's going to go after Saf's mate to get her back. If he does he will more than likely be killed and I don't know if poor Saf will be able to forgive him," said Jade.
All we could do was sit and wait until the next day when it was bound to be discovered that she was missing.

I woke up with puffy red eyes feeling defeated. I decided to search for the kitchen and eat something while I tried pretending this was all a bad dream.
I smelled something delicious and I knew it had to be coming from the kitchen so I followed the smell. There stood River cooking breakfast. Apparently waiting on me to show up.
"Good you're up. We need to talk," he said sliding me down a plate of bacon, eggs, and toast while he sat down to eat is own plate.
"Look, I know your mad at me but I can't change who I am. Ever since I was little I wanted to have the strongest pack around. I don't want to hurt your family and friends but that land is crucial," he said giving me a pleading look.
I ignored him. He still wasn't getting the point. There were more important things.
We ate in silence and eventually he went to handle some pack business after placing a kiss on my cheek.
"Jewels you there?" I decided to mind link her to let her know that it was pretty much hopeless.
"Yeah I'm here. Any luck?" she replied.
"I'm afraid not. I don't think he will budge. He's not a bad guy he's just letting his need to be the most powerful affect everything."
"I can imagine. He's an alpha after all. He's not going to change overnight. It's going to take time."
"But we don't have time," I said frantically. This war was about to happen and soon. There was nothing we could do to stop it.
"I know but all we can do is hope for the best," she said sadly.
"I know. Be safe. Tell everyone I said hi and that I miss them already."
"Okay."

I told everyone that Sapphire was okay but wasn't having any luck. It was the next day and the alpha had called another pack meeting to tell us about the up and coming war no doubt. He had meant to do it that same day but ended up mind linking the pack and letting us know it would be rescheduled because he had to get some things in order. Today he would realize that Saf was gone because everyone had to be accounted for when the meeting was urgent.
Time seemed to pass too quickly. Before I knew it we were being summoned.
"Now as you all know, I met with Alpha River of the Water Crest Valley Pack the other day. I am sorry to inform you that the meeting did not go well. I have decided it would be in our best interest to act quickly. Therefore, we must attack first. The element of surprise will work in our favor. I have informed the warriors of the war and they are well prepared. We attack at dawn."
