- Have a Title. (Don't have.)
Time: Five Years.
Reward: Title of Nobility, Item of choice up to Epic in quality, and a special gift that won't disappoint.
Special: I would accept this if I were you, but I don't think you're gonna see this since you're surprised by what is happening. This is normal, remember.
…
Did this King really say our two choices where 'do we agree OR do we agree'... who asks someone that? Really. I mean I know I'm in a fantasy world but seriously. I thought that was only written for plot and such.
And also really, you need help eliminating your enemies. I highly doubt that. I mean from what Ulrich told me about you… which to be honest was little. But he definitely mentioned that you could single handedly take out the next three bordering kingdoms if you really wanted to.
Wait… he must be doing it on purpose then. Right, that should be the reason, yeah. Yeah that's it.
[Bastion, you do know you're mumbling outloud to yourself.]
'…'
'Yes.' I answered after a couple of seconds.
Luckily I wasn't noticed as it seemed like someone from the group of Otherworlders decided to speak up.
"Wh-wha-what do yo-you mean? Wh-why would we do that for a psychopath!!" An Otherworlder who had short bright blue hair, glasses, and looked like she just stepped out of bed stuttered weakly at first but found confidence in numbers as she started screaming in the end.
[You, gone die.] Rose spoke with no hesitation.
{Bing, Bong.}
{You, gone die.}
'You, done die.'
There was only a brief flash of light before multiple high pitched screaming voices that mostly came from the men of the group.
"Psychopath? No." The King spoke with hurt in his voice as fresh blood was slowly dripping off his sword and onto a noticeable dark spot on his throne.
"I like to think of myself as a human. Plain and simple. I just happen to be a lot stronger than all of you."
"Yes you are absolutely correct, Your Majesty the King. But before, my colleague was killed. She was correct in her statement, why would we?" Another Otherworlder spoke up without stuttering. But in a clear and calm voice.
The King started to smile before there was another flash of light.
Thump!
We were all confused for a moment before the Otherworlder who spoke up earlier started to scream like a banshee!
And then he was gone. And let me tell you. It didn't happen like you would normally think it would happen.
Oh, did he pass out?
No, no he didn't.
Oh, did the King seal his lips?
No.
I will tell you what happened.
Story begins.
There wasn't a flash of light. The King just continued to smile as he slowly walked up to the still banshee screaming Otherworlder.
The other Otherworlders didn't even stop him. Heck, they even opened a path for him.
Oh and if you're wondering what I was doing then let me tell you.
Nothing.
Because I ain't stupid!
*My half a brain cell, cheering for me.*
Now back to my story.
The King picked up the oddly weeping in a way of joy now Otherworlder.
Picked up his arm.
And put it back on like nothing happened and then walked back to his throne and sat down!
[I don't think that's-!!!]
Rose couldn't even finish as the Otherworlder started sprinting. Yeah, sprinting after the King.
His arm was also reattached. I mean there wasn't even a speck of blood on his outfit, just the small pool of blood from where he originally stood. Like brand new.
And started pledging his undying loyalty to the King only to have his body vanish as the Queen was somehow standing exactly where the Otherworlder was supposed to be.
I didn't even see how she moved, nobody did.
He was just there and then he wasn't.
"Sorry dear, it seemed like I needed another Otherworlder to make our favorite Wine. But from what I gather this one will be even stronger because of his class it seems." The Queen spoke with a flushed face as she leaned on the King.
"Oh, what was his class?" The King spoke with curiosity at first then his face turned to one of surprise after a couple seconds.
"Does that mean you were able to increase your skill!? Winemaker!! has reached the Demi rank!!" The King spoke with pride as he embraced his Queen in a tight and loving embrace.
The Queen returned the King's embrace with the most loving smile as she whispered into the ear of the King.
The look of pride on the King's face increased as he lifted the Queen into the air and started spinning her!
End of Story.
*My half a brain cell, still cheering for me.*
'What, just… happened?' I asked Rose as I tried to comprehend what I just witnessed.
[Apparently something that happens quite often, remember? And also it seems like you missed the Quest - Help the Kingdom. So long story short it's a Quest Rank - SS, super hard stuff. But you get decent items it seems and a mystery gift.] Rose spoke understanding what happened as she said something that I didn't remember seeing.
[And if I were you, I'd stop them if I were you. Because if you don't I'm pretty sure the King will just kill you and summon another group until he gets what he wants. And again I don't wish to die with a group of now… what, twenty Otherworlders.]
I could only nod my head as Rose was right. Summons have been going on for a while. And I highly doubt that they know what that truly means.
But I still had to wait for the King to stop spinning the Queen. Luckily the King stopped spinning the Queen after a few rotations as he gently put her down.
After the Queen took her leave the King returned his attention back to the group like everything was normal.
I took off my straw fishing hat as I spoke to the King.
"I agree to your request, Your Majesty, The King." I agreed to the King's request as I continued speaking. "And please forgive me for my rude manners in advance if I may request to take those corpses off your hands as it seems that no one has come to take them?"
The King smiled wide as he nodded his head.
"Good choice and I don't think you were rude at all. If anything it shows that you're honest. So tell me is your class Necromancer, Dark Mage, or anything that would be seen as evil? Answer me honestly I'll give you an additional Epic Item of your choice and if you somehow surprise me."
The King's smile faded as the King's face showed no emotion.
"I'll grant you the Rank of Baron, title and everything that comes with it. On my Name, King Hermann Kissling the Tenth, Light of Otihame." The King gave his word as he seemed to smile in a curious manner.
"It's the same as my job from my world of Origin. A Grave Digger Your Majesty. And since I'm a Grave Digger I wish to give them a proper burial." I answered as I slowly put my fishing hat back on as I seemed to forget about the multiple voices of the buried.
The King's expression didn't change until his smile widened further.
"Color me surprised you spoke true. What would you like for your two Epic Items of choice and." The King's smile disappeared as he took on a Kingly Aura.
"In my Name, King Hermann Kissling the Tenth, Light of Otihame. I grant you the Rank of Baron and everything that comes with it. And in addition to my genuine surprise I will allow one favor within reason of Noble Rank until the rank of Duke."
Now it was my turn to be surprised. I mean even Rose and the other Otherworlders seemed to be surprised. Heck even that system seemed surprised as it wasn't saying anything.
I did the best I could to collect myself and thanked the King as I asked for an Epic Ranked: Robe as well as an Epic Ranked: Straw Fishing Hat. And immediately used my favor to help me move the bodies.
"Well the Robe won't be a problem as I'll have someone find one to benefit your Grave Digger class the best. And for the bodies consider it done as I'll make sure they are under the best protection possible. But for your Fishing Hat that will have to wait a couple of days, if you like since you are a Baron you are allowed to stay in your Baron manor on the street of Barons. You should try fishing in the Lake of Barons as you wait. As it will take some time to gather the proper protection for the corpses as well. I'll have one of my drivers take you to your manor and notify you when everything is done."The King nodded his head as he made a gesture of dismissal.
I nodded as I turned to look at the still confused and wide eyed Otherworlders.
"You should agree to His Majesty, The King's request." I said leaving as sweat started to form on my head as I started to think about everything that happened and everything that could possibly happen because of my current choices.
