Chapter 5 - Yos's Birthday

Fiona was buying some kitchen necessities that were on sale that night. Suddenly he heard a scream.

"Help!" cried a woman of about thirty years of age.

"What's wrong, sis?" he asked frantically.

"My bag was stolen, sis! It's over there!" the woman said with a panicked expression.

As fast as lightning Fiona chased the pickpocket.

The pickpocket ran so fast while occasionally looking back to check the situation.

"Ah, I'm finally safe too!" he said breathlessly.

"What are you doing, bro?" asked Fiona who suddenly appeared in front of the thief.

Fiona managed to take a shortcut to chase the grim-faced man.

"Huh? How come you can chase me?" he asked startled.

"You can! Do you want to see a flying saucer too? I can also give you a look, you know," Fiona offered.

The thief ran so fast that he finally gave up and threw the bag at Fiona.

Fiona returned to meet the older brother who owned the bag.

"This is Sis, the bag. Next time, be careful, Sis. Don't walk alone at night. It's very dangerous," said Fiona casually.

The woman then hugged Fiona.

"Thank you, sis," he said excitedly. Fiona returned the woman's hug,

"You're welcome."

The woman released her arms and said goodbye to go home after the taxi arrived.

"Are you Devika?" asked Yoseph approaching Devika.

"Yes, Yos. Have you received a letter from me?"

"Today I received ten letters," he replied curtly. Then he left Devika who was still petrified.

Yoseph is the male idol at Fiona's school. Everyone was attracted to him except Fiona.

Fiona is the only woman who hates this handsome man. He said handsome.

Although it must be admitted that the visuals are really handsome. Maybe something happened that made Fiona dislike Yoseph so much. Like being rejected by love, for example.

Early this morning, Devika sent a love letter to him. He put it in locker number three.

"You're reckless too, Dev," said El.

"If I don't tell him now, when will I be with him?"

"What did you say earlier, Dev? Are you dating? What kind of amnesia do you have? Did you not hear him asking your name?"

"So why?"

"That means he doesn't know who you are, Maemunah!" quipped Fiona.

Devika pursed her lips after hearing the insinuation from her best friend.

"Here, I have chocolate. Do you want it?" bargained Fiona.

"The chocolate from Ervin yesterday?" asked Devika.

"Yeah, from where else to try?" said El.

"Yeah, it's better than you snorting like a fish, you know!"

"It's okay, Koi fish is expensive."

"Give it to you Dev. So you don't want it? It's okay if you don't want to."

"Want to!" Devika said as she snatched the heart-shaped chocolate jar from Fiona's hand.

If Devika expresses her feelings through a love letter placed in Yoseph's locker. So it's different with Firda.

Firda has been good friends with Yoseph for a long time, somehow.

Even though Yoseph only sees Firda as an ordinary friend, this is not the case with Firda.

"I'm preparing a present for him, what do you think guys will like?" said Firda.

"How about a watch?"

"Too ordinary, isn't it?"

"Car."

"Don't you all give me a suggestion to give him an island? That's right, Indri! I'm not the son of a rich, twisted person!" Firda scolded.

"You said something unusual. What's wrong with giving a car?"

"It's not normal, the price is also unusual!" continued Firda nagging.

Firda is very enthusiastic about finding a gift for a special man for her life for the past year. Joseph.

From behind the wall, Fiona overhears their conversation.

He didn't want to hear it at first but apparently he was curious.

"Oh, it's the garden flea's birthday soon. That means the locker is full, like selling junk," she hissed.

The next day, Fiona was greeted by a sight that would probably happen at least three years from now. Balloons scattered in the classroom, birthday cake on the teacher's desk. A blackboard that says Happy Birthday Yoseph. Don't forget to sprinkle heart emoticons as a topping.

"What a joke!" Fiona grumbled while blowing her middle bangs.

Unlike the case with other students who were so enthusiastic about welcoming Joseph's birthday.

"When did you prepare all this, Fir?" asked one of the students.

"Last night. Indri and Mira were helped. I can't wait for Yos," said Firda enthusiastically.

"You must be really tired huh?"

"It's okay. For me, the important thing is that he's happy, that's more than enough for me," she explained again.

"How much do you like Joseph?"

"Does it look really good?"

"Oh my gosh Fir! the whole school knows times too!"

Fiona left after hearing their conversation. Rolling eyes lazily. It seemed like today was going to be even more boring for her.

Firda led Yoseph to class by putting a black cloth over his eyes. After opening his eyes...

"Surprise!" shouted another student and some of Joseph's close friends.

He was surprised and gave a small smile.

"Why do you look like that? You don't like the surprise I've prepared?" asked Firda.

"No, it's not like that, Fir. I'm happy but I can't be okay for long, okay?"

"Why, Yos?"

"Earlier the coach called me, maybe there will be practice."

"Oh, it's okay," said Firda, smiling.

Firda is indeed lucky. Not many girls are considered friends by Joseph. Other girls are considered just a game, especially when bored.

"Happy birthday, Bro!" said Wandi congratulating him.

"Ey! thankyou ma bro. Where's your girl? Can a repentant playboy not bring a girl?" quipped Joseph.

Playboy repentance is a special nickname given by Yoseph to his best friend, Wandi. After a long search he has now stopped at his jealous lover.

"Just keep on teasing me, you haven't even met a girl who made you love to death. If you get hit, you'll kill yourself!" replied Wandi.

"Halah, you didn't believe before, did you, if there was a girl who could make you retire as a playboy?" Joseph said with a chuckle.

Meanwhile on the school grounds there was Fandi who was walking towards class leisurely.

"Happy birthday brother!" he said congrats.

"Here is rendang made by my mother. Leave it for you, he said," said Fandi, giving him a lunch box. Its distinctive aroma pierced Joseph's nose.

"Where's your gift from?"

"Let's just say it's a gift I shared with my mother."

Yoseph went to the locker to store the supplies. Then back to class to meet his two friends.

But when he stood in front of the class,

"Yoss!" shouted Fandi as he threw the birthday cake that Firda had prepared.

Yoseph quickly dodged but unfortunately was hit by the girl who was standing behind Yoseph. Right on target, the cake hit his face so hard that he barely opened his eyes. That girl is Fiona.

Fandi was surprised and helped clean Fiona's face with a tissue.

"I thought the birthday surprise was over, damn it!" Fiona grumbled softly.

"So sorry, Fi. I swear I didn't mean to, I just wanted to bring Yoseph," explained Fandi, apologizing many times.

Fiona didn't answer except she was just busy cleaning the cake residue that was still stuck to her face. He then went to the toilet with a tissue from Fandi.

In the bathroom, right in front of the sink, Fiona cleaned the remaining cake that still felt sticky.

Elea approached Fiona.

"Fiona! Gosh, are you all right?" El asked.

"What do you think? Is it okay for my face to look like this?"

"Sorry, I don't know."

"Gosh Fi, if you want to clean the rest use a wet tissue. Here, use mine," said El as he took out a wet tissue from his bag.

"Why aren't there any teachers in class anyway?" Fiona asked complaining.

"It's a meeting, I hear."

"Meeting what? Yoseph's birthday meeting?!"
