“You should go to sleep, Katrinetta,” Eli said, beginning to unpin her hair.
“I shall have you in my bed for the first time, and you are suggesting we simply go to sleep?” She didn’t pull her head away from his chest to ask her question, nor did she open her eyes.
“I am. If anyone knows how tired you are, it’s me. There will be plenty of opportunities for... other things. Besides, if your mother asks you if I pleasured you tonight after she specifically told you to invite Jate, she’ll be furious.”
Kit looked up at him, finding a way to pry her eyes open. “Isn’t that no longer my concern? I was under the impression I was no longer worried about what did or did not infuriate my mother.”
He leaned down and kissed the tip of her nose. “While I would agree with that, I see no point in irritating her just for the sake of irritating her.”
“And is that all pleasuring me tonight would accomplish?” she countered.
