When Alpha Chris stopped the car in front of the pack house, Anna and Aston quickly went inside.
" Chris, tell Aston to stay away from Anna. I will tell her the same too... It's just that I don't want Anna to be a substitute or for the same thing to happen again when Anna finds her mate," Beta Ben directly came to the point as he sees Anna going inside the house.
" I agree with you, Ben... Don't worry about Aston, Carol and I will talk to him," Alpha Chris said.
" It's a good thing Alice told us about Anna's prank. They were too close to the location where we are going to meet them," Beta Ben said.
" Thank the moon goddess for that," Alpha Chris spoke as he drove worrying about Aston's recent behaviour.
He got to know from his mate, Carol that Aston spend the night with Annie. Carol also heard that Aston made Annie wear a red colour wig that still made him cringe in disgust. On top of that, he got a call from Principle that Aston is losing concentration in classes and he along with Liam and Oliver are trying to know their parents' past. Alpha Chris still has to reveal that to Beta Ben and Gamma Aiden about the boys digging into their past.
Thinking about the boys trying to find out about his life during high school life brought unease feeling to Alpha Chris. Aston is the opposite of Alpha Chris when he was in high school, unlike him Aston has taken his future title seriously. Aston has taken many clubs that protect students' rights and is strictly against bullying. At a young age, Aston can tell right from wrong and is good at reading people, Alpha Chris is relieved that Aston will not make the same mistake as he did.
" What the hell?" Aston exclaimed after Liam and Oliver shared the information they found.
" So it's Alexander, who is behind this," Aston spoke again trying to digest the information.
" Did you find any information on Alexander from Uncle Aiden's computer?" Aston asked looking at his friends.
" No, but we got the information on the people who were the suspect for stealing money," Liam said while gesturing to Oliver to tell Aston.
" They all had a common factor that they were bullied during their school time which cause them to have low working jobs or incomplete life with their mates or seek therapy," Oliver spoke with a concerned tone which made Aston frown yet he was quiet to let Oliver continue.
" They have been under watch by our spies ever since our parents took their titles... We found bizarre messages that prove our parents still bully them saying these people are traitors of the pack,"
" If they are traitors then they should be banished," Aston commented in disbelief.
" It's your Aunt Aubrey who vouch for them and is supporting them as much as she could," Liam explained noticing Aston's discomfort from hearing his Aunt's name.
" I think we shouldn't be involved in this matter... Our priority is finding Alexander," Oliver points out making Aston and Liam agree.
" If Alexander is the son of Late Alpha Nick then we should search Dad's computer," Aston announced.
" Don't tell me you didn't send the link to Uncle Chris like Liam," Oliver groaned in disappointment at his friends.
" I actually did that," Aston spoke in excitement as he remembers that the link helped him to hack his Dad's computer and he no longer needs to sneak into Alpha Office.
Aston took his laptop from his side drawer and rapidly looked at the data about the Alphas and their pack.
Oliver and Liam lean towards the laptop screen like Aston when he clicks to see the information on Late Alpha Nick of Dark Knight Pack.
As the boy reads information on Alpha Nick, their expression started to shift from attentive to shocked.
" What the hell?... It's written he was wrongfully killed by Gamma Aiden of Howler Pack," Oliver shouted in anger.
" Wait for a second... there is a link," Aston spoke as he click on the link.
" It's an investigative report done by Gamma Prince Carles of the Royal Pack on the matter of mass murder of the Dark Knight Pack," Liam read out loud the first page of a PDF.
Oliver took the laptop from Aston so he could read the document properly. And Liam shifted his place from next to Aston to next to Oliver. The boys were quiet for a long time as they were busy reading the document.
They were shocked to know about Dark Knight Pack's history. The founder Alpha was of royal blood and the second son of the King who left the royal pack to live with his witch mate. Their descendants were well-known and the strongest witches and wizards of their time. The last Alpha, Late Alpha Nick was known as the kindest and calm of all previous Alphas. It was the tradition of the Dark Knight Pack that after the Alpha Children become witches or wizards, they perform a ritual where they find their mates. And Late Alpha Nick was the youngest Alpha to find his mate, Sandy. Their child's name is Alexander and the future Alpha of the Dark Knight Pack.
" Why the hell does he have the title of the Future Alpha?" Oliver shouted again in anger and disbelief.
" We have to read the rest of the document to find out," Liam muttered while he winces as his ears are sensitive.
After the boys finished reading the whole investigation report, they were speechless. No one said a word until a knocking sound came from the door.
" Come in," Aston orders after he composed himself.
" Future Alpha, I have come to remind you that the barbecue party will start in two hours," Omega said timidly and kept her eyes down.
" Why are you scared?" Aston asked sounding concerned.
" It's my first day at work... I am just nervous," The omega spoke after she looked at Aston for a second.
" She is telling the truth," Liam whispered to Aston after his wolf confirmed.
" Okay, you can leave now, " Aston muttered.
" What are you doing?" Aston and Liam asked as soon as they saw Oliver typing on the laptop.
" I am trying to find the Beta who survived, Beta Samuel," Oliver announced.
" Uncle Samuel, you should be here when we are this much close to our revenge," Epsilon Samuel smirked hearing Alpha Ace.
" I know, it's just I had to handle this matter... I can't believe I have fulfilled my promise... My promise to your Dad is to make you the strongest Alpha and help you to seek revenge on the Howler Pack, Alexander " Epsilon Samuel muttered.
" Don't call me that," Alpha Ace growls on another side of the line making Epsilon Samuel's wolf whimper.
" My bad, Alpha... I have to go now, bye," Epsilon Samuel then cut the call and looked at his six preys.
" What are we going to do now?" Leo, one of the pack members asked.
" We wait for nightfall then it will be fun to eat them," Epsilon Samuel muttered looking hungrily at the six Indian girls who were busy setting their camps and bonfire.
" It's about to be sunset," One of the members spoke in excitement.
" We have to be quick and no mistake can be made otherwise Alpha will kill you all," Epsilon Samuel mind-linked his pack members who joined him for this last mission of eating humans. Epsilon Samuel was confident that Alpha Ace will not hurt him physically like the others if they get caught.
Epsilon Samuel knew Alpha Ace consider him a father and he doesn't see any difference between Alpha Ace and his son, Sebastian. After all, he brought up those two after the pack was killed. He still regrets leaving his pack but his son and godson deserved to live and that was only possible if they flee. For many years, he did everything to give security, wealth and power to the two boys. Even though those two still object to his habit of eating humans that is because they never felt the thrill of killing humans or eating them. If Alpha Ace found out he went against his order and ate humans then he himself doesn't know what Alpha Ace will do.
After the call was cut, Alpha Ace still felt the uneasiness that didn't leave him since he woke up. He thought talking with Epsilon Samuel will make him feel better but it didn't.
" We both know this uneasiness is because our mate is still unsafe," Alpha Ace's wolf, Ron barks.
" If it is then it's not from our pack members," Ace muttered yet he wasn't confident in his words.
" Ace, " Sebastian calls his name before knocking on the door.
" Come in, Sebastian," Ace said and handed a can of beer to Sebastian.
" So are you ready to beat Ben and Liam?" Ace asked but Sebastian shook his head and said,
" I am not going tonight... I have to tell you something... I couldn't tell you on the call,"
" What is it, Sebastian?" Ace asked while his wolf, Ron was also attentive to know the matter.
" Susan saw me when I was at the pack house and I think she thought I was Dad... I had to temper her memories... I saw every single thing, Ace," Sebastian muttered and Ace understood the meaning behind his Beta's words.
" What was it?" Ace asked holding his can of beer tightly.
" The former council contacted Susan when she fought with your Mom... She made a deal with them... They wanted you to be killed because you are mated to a sunshinner werewolf. Her mate will kill the former council and the royals," Sebastian said expecting Ace will go into a rage but Ace laughed.
" We knew that my mate is an enemy to them because the seer told them... I thought if I didn't find her then she won't be a target for them but I was wrong. They killed our family and pack because they thought my mate is a sunshinner... an extinct race werewolf," Ace spoke in between his laugh.
" There is a prophecy of the sunshinners return, Ace," Sebastian points out but Ace shook his head.
" That's not happening," Ace muttered.
Before Sebastian could say something, Sebastian and Ace scream in pain as they hold their chest.
" What was that?" Sebastian asked as he tries to make his breathing even.
" Someone in our pack died," Ace announced in shock as it was the first time they felt the pain from a member's death.
" Ron, who was it?" Ace asked sounding vulnerable.
" I couldn't connect to Lucky," Ron whines feeling depressed about losing his pack member.
" He was Leo's wolf," Ace said to Ron and looked at Sebastian with determination to seek revenge for his pack member's death.
" It was Leo," He informed Sebastian and they left the Alpha Office to talk with their pack.
On their way, they met Zeta of the pack who had a tablet in his hand.
" Alpha, Leo left the pack with Epsilon Samuel along with these pack members," The Zeta handed the tablet to Alpha Ace which contained the names of members.
Reading the names of the members, Alpha Ace realised his mistake. He didn't check the names of the members who accompanied Epsilon Samuel. If he did then he would have known that Epsilon Samuel is going to eat humans even when he ordered him otherwise.
" What are you going to do, Alpha?" Beta Sebastian asked looking at Alpha Ace whose face was stoic.
