It was a struggle for Cadmus and Blair to get to the bus stop.
They hadn't even taken five steps yet, but they're already soaked. They walked quickly yet carefully, their wet socks making faint squelching sounds.
Then, there was an extra powerful gust of wind, and Blair's umbrella flipped inside out. Blair gasped and tried to fix it, but the wind was too much.
"Blair!" Cadmus yelled. "The umbrella's broken! Look, it's bent!"
He was right.
Now exposed to the elements without a functioning umbrella, she tried desperately to close her umbrella. With a bit of fumbling, she managed to do so. But he dragged her under his umbrella, warm fingers clenched around wet fabric.
Her head accidentally bumped into his shoulder.
