Two days had passed since Cadmus and Hershey started laying out their plan.
"So, when are you going to tell me you'll be serenading her?" was what Hershey announced out of nowhere as she walked into Moirai that afternoon, and Cadmus only had a second to give her a look that said, 'What in the name of Blair Winifred are you doing?!'
But it had been too late.
Colt popped up his head from behind the cash register, a brow arched in suspicion. He then offered Hershey a kind, sweet smile in greeting. The middle-aged woman standing at the counter, whom Cadmus recognized to be a regular customer, looked at him too.
"Who is he serenading, Hershey?" Colt asked pleasantly while punching numbers into the cash register as Hershey seated himself next to Cadmus on the stools.
